Day 2007: I Shake It Off for Taylor Swift and Smile Train #ShakeItOffNisha

Life’s certainly what you make of it; Opportunities you take & those you miss! – Catherine Constantinides

It’s 1 : 12 PM on day 2007 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read James 5, go to church, learn one new thing – The Olympic Rings linked together to show everyone getting together for the Olympic Games. And there are five meaning the five varying inhabited continents in the world – Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania.–have breakfast and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign –  yesterday Frank Burns who has donated to this campaign once before  donated $15 (thanks SO MUCH Frank  your ongoing support means the world to me :) ) which brings the total raised to $3 312 only $2 938 more to raise by 10 Jan 2017  (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far :)  ).

Two days ago I recorded myself dancing on my bed to Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” I’m hoping Taylor will see the video (I uploaded it yesterday)  help spread the word about my 25 Smiles Campaign and/or make a donation. Watch me Shake It Off for Taylor Swift and Smile Train #ShakeItOffNisha below:

P.S. If you like the video above please click the picture below to send a tweet pre-typed by me to Taylor Swift. Thank you in advance.

Day 1984: Taylor Swift’s speech at the 2016 Grammy Awards

“As the first woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammys twice, I want to say to all the young women out there, there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame, but, if you just focus on the work and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you’re going you’ll look around and you will know that it was you and the people who love you who put you there. And that will be the greatest feeling in the world. Thank you for this moment.” – Taylor Swift

It’s 12 : 00 PM on day 1984 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read 2 Timothy 3,  learn one new thing –it is true that they are mammals, but dolphins only have hair when they are first born. This hair is found on the top of the rostrum, which is the dolphin’s mouth, and falls out within two weeks. Dolphins do not grow any other hair for the rest of their lives.–have breakfast and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign – raised $2 937 only $3 313 more to raise by 10 Jan 2017  (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far :)  ).

Recently I watched Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at this year’s Grammys I loved the power and class with which she dealt with Kanye West’s claim that he made her famous (in his new song “Famous” Kanye basically said he made Taylor famous). Watch Taylor Swift’s speech at the 2016 Grammy Awards below:

Day 1801: Taylor Swift, Cerebral Palsy and Being Honest

Just by being vulnerable and honest we can change people’s lives – that’s what I realized today.

It’s 1 : 11 PM on day 1801  of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth,  pray, read Mark 6,    publish my Disability of the Day feature,     have breakfast, learn one new thing –  The heartbeat (lub-dub sound) is the produced by the closing of the atrioventricular valves.– and  promote my Educate Generations campaign – Benedict Joson who wrote  Let’s care for the future by investing in global education donated $10 today (thanks so much Benedict your support means a lot to me 🙂 ) which brings my total raised to $4 601 (I love people like Benedict he’s a young guy with his own education projects going and yet he found it in his heart to help me that means more to me than he’ll ever know).

This morning I stumbled across Taylor Swift’s performance of “Ronan” – a song she co-wrote dedicated to a little boy named Ronan who sadly died of cancer (apparently Taylor read Ronan’s mom’s blog every night) – after hearing what Taylor said about honesty and writing I have decided to open up a little more (I usually don’t write post that are whiny because I think the world and its people have enough problems already I’m not going to add my problems on top of that but maybe just maybe me sharing my whiny posts may make someone somewhere feel less alone and if it only does that it will be worth it) although I have A LOT to be grateful for living with Cerebral Palsy is hard my muscles are stiff most of the time, food moves slower through the digestive system because I don’t move around much (if I don’t eat right ALL THE TIME I’m constipated for days), sometimes when I talk people don’t understand what I’m trying to say so I have to repeat myself and then there are people who treat me like I’m invisible and like I’ll amount to nothing in life (I swear some people have come to visit and if they even bother acknowledging my presence the first thing they ask me is either what’s good on TV? [I wouldn’t know I literally haven’t watched TV in weeks] or they ask what are you playing on the computer? [admittedly I am on my laptop most of the day but 98% of the time I’m working my butt off])…. It’s just hard sometimes having to live with a condition you didn’t choose I just want everybody with Cerebral Palsy to know that I understand what they’re going through and that they are not alone.

Day 1681: 1989 by Taylor Swift [Album Review]

“I’m intimidated by the fear of being average.” – Taylor Swift

It’s 12 : 13 PM on day 1681 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Ezekiel 40, publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing – Springbok usually mate during the dry season and after a gestation period of 5 – 6 months, 1 young Springbok is born.  –  feed myself  for an egg sandwich and a banana  breakfast, read Chibok: ‘For over one year, our children haven’t been to school’ –  reading this I was reminded just how important the Malala Fund‘s work is (thank you everyone at the Malala Fund) –  and  promote my Educate Generations campaign–so far 76 donations have been made totaling $2700 (thanks everybody SO GRATEFUL 🙂 ) .

Recently Taylor Swift’s new album 1989 was bought for me all 13 songs on the album are good because they all tell stories personal to Taylor but I particularly love “All You Had to Do Was Stay”, “Shake It Off”, “This Love” and “I Know Places” listening to the whole album I couldn’t help but admire Taylor’s courage and confidence to write anything for the public you have to know that you will be fine if the world rips your work to shreds.

Day 1574: Gratitude and Taylor Swift

“Thankfulness is the beginning of gratitude. Gratitude is the completion of thankfulness. Thankfulness may consist merely of words. Gratitude is shown in acts.” – Henri Frederic Amiel

It’s 12 : 48 PM on day 1574 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to  brush my teeth,  pray,  read Isaiah 59, publish my Disability of the Day feature, publish my Kid of the Week feature, learn one new thing – did you know that despite their size, elephants can be turned off by the smallest of critters. One study found that they avoid eating a type of acacia tree that is home to ants. Underfoot, ants can be crushed, but an elephant wants to avoid getting the ants inside its trunk, which is full of sensitive nerve endings–  promote my Educate Generations campaign–  on $1 335  – feed myself a peanut butter sandwich for breakfast and continue promoting my campaign – still on $1 335 but I’m grateful 🙂

Recently I watched a video of Taylor Swift choosing, wrapping and sending holiday gifts to some of her most loyal fans I was blown away by how humble she was and how appreciative she was for the support she had she’s a popstar with all the money and fame that anybody could ever dream of and yet what she values most are the people who helped her get to where she is and that I think is part of the secret to her success and what makes her endearing to me and all her other fans. Watch “Taylor Swift’s Gift Giving of 2014” below:

Day 1445: Be Nice to Taylor Swift and everybody else

Be nice to everyone even those you may never meet– that’s my message to the world.

It’s 12  : 50 PM on day 1445 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to pray, brush my teeth,   feed myself a peanut butter sandwich and a banana for breakfast,  read Psalm 133, publish my Disability of the Day feature,     have a foot massage for my foot infection and ask Parez Hilton to help me with my upcoming campaign – Parez is the creator of parezhilton.com  and he knows every celeb so I figured I’d ask him to ask his friends to auction off a few of their things and donate the proceeds to my upcoming campaign it’s a long shot but it’s still a shot.

Recently I was watching Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” music video and I couldn’t help noticing all the nasty comments just below the video people were not just attacking the girl’s music they were also criticizing her body which I thought was really uncalled for the internet enables us to criticize whoever we want anonymously but we should keep in mind that the people we criticize are people just like us with thoughts and feelings.

Day 611

Everybody’s problems are important– that’s what I learned today 🙂

It’s 3 : 32 PM on day 611 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to  brush my teeth,   feed myself Oats  for breakfast, drink Green Tea  by myself, publish my Disability of the Day feature,  exercise my right hand –  I can now  pick up a knife with my right hand now I just need more practice cutting  with it – and feed myself rice and curry for lunch.

Today as I was practicing picking up a knife with my right hand and listening to Teardrops on my Guitar by Taylor Swift I caught myself thinking if all you have to cry about is a boy you’re lucky in that moment I realized how unfair I was being by comparing my problems with Taylor’s we were different people with different problems. Do you walk around thinking you’re the one with the biggest problems?

Day 226

Whenever I found out anything remarkable, I have thought it my duty to put down my discovery on paper, so that all ingenious people might be informed thereof. – Antonie van Leeuwenhoek

It’s 7: 50 PM on day 226 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, feed myself a sweet potato and chutney for breakfast, listen to music, tweet about my Clean Water For All Campaign for a few hours – no luck – start reading A Purloined Life – the first of two books in Stella Cameron’s Charmed – feed myself rice and curry for lunch, watch TV, feed myself rice and curry for dinner and tweet about my campaign some more – still no luck 🙁

My brother once told me that sharing was caring and since I care so much for all of you I would like to share with you my latest obsession, Jake Coco – a twenty-six-year-old who reflects God every time he opens his mouth to sing. Take a look:

Day 199

Inspiration – somebody or something that inspires somebody to creative thought or to the making of art.

It’s 8: 48 PM on day 199 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, feed myself French Fries for breakfast, tweet about my Clean Water For All Campaign  for a few hours – no luck – feed myself rice and curry for lunch, listen to music, tweet about campaign some more – no donation were made but I found out that Sarah Brown – wife of former British Prime-Minister  Gordon Brown – is following me on Twitter which might increase my credibility with the general public and thus make raising money  for my campaign a little easier 🙂 –  feed myself custard  for dinner, tweet about campaign some more –still  no luck – and watched TV.

Today listening to Never Grow Up by Taylor Swift (see below) I longed for the time in my life where the biggest decision I had to make was what cereal to eat in the morning but then I realized that it would be kind of weird if we were all frozen in time and I asked myself what do I love about my life now and to my surprise there was actually a lot I loved about being newly  twenty I guess what I am trying to say is something I eluded to leading up to my twentieth birthday just be where you are in your life because at the end of the day you can’t life in the past or the future with that said I urge to do what I did and ask yourself what do I love about my life now I promise you the answers you find will give you a new perspective on your life. Has a song, book or movie ever inspired you to see your life from a different point of view?

Day 190

The whole is more than the sum of its parts. – Aristotle

It’s 10: 31  PM on day 190 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth,  tweet about my Clean Water For All Campaign for a few hours – no luck –  feed myself rice and curry for lunch,  tweet about my campaign some more – still no luck 🙁  – feed myself Chapati – an unleavened flatbread – filled with salad and mutton gravy and watch TV.

Several people – my mother included –  have told me that I am wise beyond my years and although that this is true to a certain extent I think that they have forgotten that I am just a nineteen soon-to-be twenty-year-old girl trying to find my place in the world with that said I would like to take this moment to introduce you to all aspects of me – from my favourite music, movies and books to my greatest hopes, fears and future travel destinations  – like me or leave me I don’t mind either way 🙂
