Cinderella with a Twist: Celebrating Mandy Pursley

“It is so much easier to believe in yourself when you are able to see people who look like you achieving the same dreams that you have. People who have differences really just want to feel included and accepted without feeling the need to hide what makes them unique.” – Mandy Pursley

Today is World Disability Day and in honour of this day I would like to celebrate Mandy Pursley – a fantastic human who decide to do a Cinderella photoshoot but instead of a glass shoe Mandy used her prosthetic hand which looked like it was made of glass thus proving EVERYBODY CAN BE Cinderella. Thank you Mandy for teaching all the young people out there that there’s beauty in physical difference of all kinds and thank you for allowing me to use your photos

Uncomfortable

Some people have no concept of boundaries – that’s what I’ve realized

Yesterday I was somewhere was more than 100 people we were eating and this man put his hand on me and starts praying i let it go he disappears then returns to wipe my face I say no, my sister says no and my friend says no still he continued now saying I must sing for him I was so uncomfortable and scared (I would later find out the man has some sort of mental illness which explained but still did not excuse his behaviour)

My Shattered Soul. Rest in Peace Gerda

Life is a shocking experience – that’s what I have realized

Today I find out my physiotherapist of 14 years passed away in a car accident this morning EVERYTHING HAS CHANGED my soul is shattered. To the first person who never felt sorry for me. Rest in peace Gerda i will always love you. I may not be 12 anymore but i was always going to need you. How dare you die on me like this?
