A couple of days ago I heard Just the Way You Are by Bruno Mars and although the song was about romantic love between a man and a woman I felt like it was written for all the girls out there who have been made to feel like they need to change themselves. Listen to the song below and you’ll understand what I mean:
I LOVE hearing from you feel free to leave a comment below.
Your joy doubles when you share the things you love– that’s what I keep learning 🙂

Yesterday I was on Twitter doing what I usually did –promoting my campaign and asking for donations – and this woman from whom I asked a donation said the most awful things but I said i’m sorry i did not mean any offense my intentions are pure:) read my life story maybe then u’l understand http://t.co/YfXZ42f and carried on singing along with Jason Derulo while she was still talking about it telling people that she castigated – what does that word mean anyway LOL – me in public my point is holding on to the ill-feelings you have for someone else does more harm to you than it does to the other person. Have you given yourself the gift of forgiveness?

I believe that you can tell a lot about a person by the kinds of books they read and the music they listen to and as I looked back last night on my favorite songs growing up I realized how innocent I really was you’ll see what I mean. Take a look:

Has a coincidence ever given you reassurance?

A few weeks ago I launched my reading challenge and asked you to read one book per week for the entire year and in keeping with the theme of reading I will be creating a new page on this blog which will feature all the books that I can remember reading over the course of my twenty year life because I believe that someone who reads is more likely to act in the face of injustice because he/she has learned empathy. Do you have friends yet to be discovered and shared sitting right on your book self?

Today my brother asked my parents if he could stay home from school because his friends had bunked yesterday and on Friday and although my parents obliged him my father said this before he left if you’re staying home because you’re sick I won’t force you to go but if you’re doing this because you’re friends did it’s your life… one day your friends might start drinking will you join them and that I guess is a question for all of us am I willing to sacrifice doing what I know is right just to belong. Do you follow the crowd or choose to forge your own path?

This morning my aunt called from Kuwait and I heard her say to my mom if you’re planning on going back to India after you retire you should buy a flat in Ernakulam –the western part of the mainland of Kochi city in Kerala, India – there no one will say anything if you bring Nisha and at first I felt like a freak then I was outraged by the fact that she thought I was going to live with my parents forever considering I planned to make my own money, get married and have kids but after a couple of hours had passed I realized that I had to find a way to deal with the fact that most people would always discriminate against me. Are you resisting the circumstances of your life thereby making it more difficult for yourself to survive?
