Day 2654: Chase Your Aliveness

Chase your aliveness– that’s my message to the world.

It’s 12 : 00  PM on day 2654 of my journey towards independence and I managed to  pray,  read Luke 1:30-31 and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet –  A HUGE thanks to Be Good To People who donated $100  which brings the total raised to  $5 481 only $7 019 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot.

Yesterday I was out doing normal things (of the non-humanitarian kind) and I felt like I was drifting  which made me realize I feel most alive when I give and serve which is awesome because now that I know that on a conscious level I am going to consciously constantly try to stay in that lane in big and small ways. Chase your aliveness.

Day 1760: Getting everything you want in life

Follow your passion, love the life you have and everything else will fall into place – that’s my message to the world.

It’s 12 : 30 PM on day 1760  of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth,  pray, read Zachariah 10,    publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing –Aplomb [a·plomb] n.  Self-confident assurance, skill, and poise – especially in difficult or challenging circumstances. – have breakfast,   promote my Educate Generations campaign –$3 301 raised so far (thanks so much everyone 🙂 ) – and hang out with my sister.

This morning I realized that when you follow your passion and love the life you have everything else will fall into place so often in life we chase people instead of our passions not realizing that when we become the stars in our own lives the right people will come to us.

Day 1629: Do you do everything you do with your whole heart?

Do whatever you do with your whole heart – that’s my message to the world.

It’s  12 : 00 PM on day 1629 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to pray,    read Jeremiah 46,  publish my Disability of the Day feature, watch the Australia  vs.New Zealand Cricket World Cup match – it was a close one but New Zealand took it – , brush my teeth, feed myself  egg sandwich for breakfast, learn one new thing – The antennae sticking out the head of a snail aren’t feelers; a snail’s eyes are located at the tips of those long stalks.  –   promote my Educate Generations campaign – $2 050 raised so far I think I’m going to sleep I’m so tired I woke up at 4 AM to watch the cricket.

Today I realized something about myself whatever I do, no matter how much of a waste of time it may seem to be to some people, I do with my whole heart I don’t see the point of doing something with half my effort, energy and passion I would rather not do it all.  Do you do everything you do with your whole heart?

Day 1543: Obsession or Focus and Passion?

You have to be a little obsessed with the things you do to succeed in life– that’s what I realized today.

It’s 12 : 14 PM on day 1543 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray, read Isaiah 28,   publish my Disability of the Day feature, stretch my hamstrings,  promote my Educate Generations campaign– on $1 070  – feed myself egg with bread and bananas for breakfast, watch Adorable 3 year old is very happy to dance! – it’s a super adorable and funny video and continue promoting my campaign – still on $1 070 but I’m grateful to be this far and working hard to reach goal 🙂

Today I realized you have to be a little obsessed with the things you do to succeed in life when I set my mind to achieving a goal I eat, sleep and breath it some people call it obsession I call it focus and passion. Does your passion border on obsession?

Day 1489: Burn for something

Burn for something– that’s my message to the world.

It’s 1 : 57 PM on day 1489 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray, read Proverbs 27, feed myself All Bran Flakes with banana  for breakfast, publish my Disability of the Day feature,  promote my Educate Generations campaign – no donations so far today – and go the doctor – South Africans are the nicest people this woman I didn’t even know let me go ahead of her so that I could get something for my muscle pain it’s the little things that people do that you remember most 🙂

Today I was thinking about people who are lukewarm about everything people who don’t feel strongly either way about anything and it made me sad because I believe the world today needs people who are on fire for the things that they believe in I burn for equality and social justice. What do you burn for?

Day 235

Your talent allows you to show yourself as you truly are – that’s what I learned today.

It’s 8: 25 PM on day 235 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, feed myself a bread and jam sandwich for breakfast, tweet about my Clean Water For All Campaign – no luck – watch TV, feed myself rice and curry for lunch, tweet about my campaign some more – no luck – attempt peeling an orange – I only succeeded in stabbing all the juice out of it (Note to self: Must practice cutting and peeling an orange) – feed myself an orange for dinner, play wrestling with my brother – Brennan’s death has taught me that life is too short not to get down on my brother’s level and play with him 🙂 – continue to tweet about my campaign – still no luck – and brush my teeth once more.

Today I was chatting with my friend via Facebook and she said having read this blog yesterday wow, you inspire me and in that moment I realized that the reason I loved writing so much was because people saw my soul rather than my body when they read what I wrote. When you do whatever it is you do are you able to show yourself as you truly are?

Stan’s very sweet for saying so, but feel free to write what reflects you best.

Day 232

Feeling guilty that you have things that other people don’t have won’t change anything– that’s what I learned today

It’s 8: 08 PM on day 232 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, feed myself a polony sandwich for breakfast, tweet about my Clean Water For All Campaign for a few hours – no luck – continued writing my novel – I started last year and have every moment of it so far 🙂 – feed myself rice and curry for lunch,  watch TV and feed myself Batura – deep fried bread – for dinner.

Today I was feeling a little hungry so I asked my mom to go get me something from the kitchen and as I was eating I felt bad because I knew that not everybody was that lucky which is why I have decided to create Virginia’s Sandwich Run – an upcoming page on this blog dedicated to our late housekeeper, Virginia, which aims to raise enough money to make 48 sandwiches a week for the people in our current housekeeper’s neighbourhood. Do you feel guilty about inequality but fail to do anything about it?

Day 213

It is not how much you do, but how much love you put into the doing that matters. – Mother Teresa

It’s 9: 46 PM on day 213 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, feed myself a banana for breakfast, tweet about my Clean Water For All Campaign for a few hours – @uncledorothy (Vanessa) made another donation – thanks Vanessa your support has been overwhelming 🙂 – feed myself rice and curry for lunch, tweet about my campaign some more – no further luck – feed myself Chapati – an unleavened flatbread – and vegetable curry for dinner, continue to tweet about my campaign – still no further luck 🙁 – and watch TV.

Today I was watching a short clip about Japanese fan making on TV and I couldn’t help but be awestruck by how meticulously the Japanese men and women went about doing their work and in that moment I realized that as long as you perceived yourself to be creating art you would always be successful in life. Do you do what you do out of love or obligation?

Day 209

Subdue your passion or it will subdue you. – Horace

It’s 10: 00 PM on day 209 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, feed myself rice and curry for brunch, tweet about my Clean Water For All Campaign for a few hours – no luck – feed myself bread and peas curry for dinner and tweet about my campaign some more – still no luck.

Today as I was lying on my bed tweeting about my campaign in excruciating pain I came to the realization that nothing, not even the betterment of the world was worth sacrificing myself over with that said although I will still work hard for my campaign and feeding scheme my first priority is to gain independence from my parents and become more whole as a human being because at the end of the day I am of no use to the world if I’m empty. Is your passion slowly killing you?

Day 201

There is no I in TEAM. – Unknown

It’s 9: 26 PM on day 201 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, feed myself a banana for breakfast, tweet about my Clean Water For All Campaign  for a few hours – no luck – listen to music, feed myself rice and curry for lunch, watched TV while feeding myself bread and baked beans   for dinner and tweet about campaign some more –still no luck.

Today as I watched the Cricket World Cup final India vs. Sri Lanka and heard my parents joyous screams when the match resulted in a victory for India I realized that the reason people were so passionate about sports was because they felt connected to something greater than themselves if only for a few hours. Do you support a specific team to feel a oneness with others?
