Day 3075: Returning to Childlike Joy

Our job as adults is to return to childlike joy – that’s what I was reminded of today

It’s 4: 04 PM on day 3075 since I started blogging and I managed to pray, read a Bible verse, spend time with friends and do some work

Today a very special human reminded me that our job as adults is to return to childlike joy today was just amazing…so blessed!

Day 2867: It all counts

Sometimes the good you do will only make people feel good in the moment and sometimes that’s enough  – that’s what I’ve realized

It’s 1 : 31 PM on day 2867 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read a Bible verse and do some work

Yesterday straying from my usual modus operandi of doing things that make a sustainable impact I decided to do something that would add some joy temporarily and I don’t regret because it has dawned on me that it all counts… whether the things we do add light, love and hope for generations to come or just for a few minutes it all counts.

Day 2789: Just Be Happy

Life doesn’t have to be perfect or easy for anyone to be genuinely happy – that’s what I was reminded of today.

It’s 2 :  32 PM on day 2789 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Exodus 23:25, go to church, have breakfast, spend time outside – it was fun with minimal technology I loved it -have lunch and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet –  raised  $14 409 only $4 341 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to reach my new goal of helping 75 kids with Clubfoot by June 17, 2018.

Today hanging out outside under the blue sky and getting up to a lot of shenanigans with mom I was reminded that life doesn’t have to be perfect or easy for anyone to be genuinely happy.

Day 2443: The Source of my Truest Joy and Contentment

Giving was, is and always will be the source of my truest joy and contentment – that’s what I now know.

It’s 11: 36 AM on day 2443 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read 1 Corinthians 2:12, watch myself and my Superhero Catherine Constantinides on TV – thank you to the Expresso Show for sharing footage of my paraglide and allowing us to tell South Africa about the people of the Western Sahara –   have breakfast and learn a new word – Definitions for memoriter 1. by heart; by memory. 2.involving or requiring memorization: the memoriter aspects of a college course.

Today I realized that no matter how far I get in this life or whatever else I accomplish giving was, is and always will be the source of my truest joy and contentment I guess every human circles back to that realization sooner or later (the impact of our lives on the world and on other people will be our enduring legacy).

Day 2335: Create Awesome Moments

Joy is not only something you find it’s also something you can choose to create– that’s what keeping a Moments Journal has helped me realize.

It’s 6 :39 AM on day 2335 of my journey towards independence and I managed to wake up early to say bye to my sister (she left to go back to university this morning),   pray, read 1 John 4: 9 and learn a new word –Potentate [po·ten·tate] n. One who has the power and position to rule over others: A monarch or ruler. “Industrial potentates.”

On New Year’s Day I decided every day this year I would write down one awesome moment of each day which has helped me realize that joy is not only something you find it’s also something you can choose to create – if the awesome moment does not happen naturally I make the moment awesome by doing something nice for someone, saying something genuinely nice to someone or simply appreciating the “little things” (it works every time the moments in which I’m the kindest and most grateful never fail to be my most joyful, most awesome moments).

Day 1955: Keeping my peace

Nobody can take your peace from you if you don’t let them– that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 10 : 11 AM on day 1955 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Ephesians 2, learn one new thing –After the unification of Italy in 1861, when Rome was still under the control of the Papal States, Turin was declared the first capital of Italy, as it was then the capital of the Piedmont region and home of ruling the monarchs, the Savoy.– have breakfast, spend time outside – it’s such a beautiful morning here so grateful to be alive –  and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign – $1 120 raised so far so grateful 🙂 .

Today I realized that nobody can take your peace from you if you don’t let them which seems obvious but most of us give people the power to disturb our peace like it’s going out of fashion well it ends now peace, joy and happiness are my birthright and I’m staking my claim.

Day 1762: Pinch me this is my life

You know most of your life is awesome when you wake up some days thinking pinch me this is my life– that’s what I realized today.

It’s 12 : 15 PM on day 1762  of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth,  pray, read Zachariah 12,    publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing –The name “orchid” comes from the Greek word for testicle, referring not to the plant’s flowers but its bulbs, organs that have long been considered to possess aphrodisiac properties. – have breakfast,   promote my Educate Generations campaign –$3 301 raised so far (thanks all)  – and hang out with my family.

Some days I wake up thinking pinch me this is my life there are times I can hardly believe that God has done the things he has done through me it’s really weird if I tell myself my story it sounds like a movie I feel like me and the person who God is working through to help people are two separate people only I know that we are the same person.

Day 1321: The Amazing Dr. S

Love what you do–that’s my message to the world.

It’s 1  : 00 PM on day 1321 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to pray,    brush my teeth, read Psalm 12,   publish my Disability of the Day feature,   promote my Eradicate AIDS campaign – still on 60% (please God help) – feed myself egg with bread for breakfast,  watch Humko Deewana Kar Gaye – it’s basically a Hindi version of Notting Hill with some additions and subtractions made to the script I really liked it Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif played  their roles beautifully – and continue promoting my campaign – still no luck.

Two days ago I went to the dentist’s office to get my teeth cleaned it was there that I met Dr. S usually I don’t feel strongly about dentists either way but Dr. S cleaned my teeth with such joy and excitement that I couldn’t help but be joyful and excited in her presence. Are you joyous every day because you love what you do?

Day 255

Everybody is a microcosm of their country – that’s what I learned today 🙂

It’s 6: 32 PM on day 255 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, started prepare my Kid of the Week feature for Sunday, feed myself a polony sandwich for breakfast, tweet about my Clean Water For All Campaign –no luck –practice wheeling myself around – I could have made it over the small ramp that separates the kitchen and the dining room but I thought the wheelchair would topple over and fall and since I didn’t want to ruin my pretty face LOL I thought it would be better to do it when my parents were around – exercise for fifteen minutes, watch TV, feed myself rice and curry for lunch, watch some more TV, feed myself Pizza for dinner and brush my teeth once more.

Today while I was exercising I heard our housekeeper, Nandipha, singing and it almost brought tears to my eyes because I knew that nowhere else in the world would I find a woman singing while she was scrubbing the toilet when you witness something like that it really makes you think about the possibilities of your own life. Are you a fair reflection of your country?
