Life doesn’t have to be perfect or easy for anyone to be genuinely happy – that’s what I was reminded of today.

It’s 2 :  32 PM on day 2789 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Exodus 23:25, go to church, have breakfast, spend time outside – it was fun with minimal technology I loved it -have lunch and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet –  raised  $14 409 only $4 341 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to reach my new goal of helping 75 kids with Clubfoot by June 17, 2018.

Today hanging out outside under the blue sky and getting up to a lot of shenanigans with mom I was reminded that life doesn’t have to be perfect or easy for anyone to be genuinely happy.

Day 2657: To Those Who Aren’t Feeling Very Festive

I am only as happy as the saddest person on the planet– that’s what I know.

It’s 11 : 44 AM on day 2657 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,  have breakfast, read Galatians 4:4-5 and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – raised  $5 506 only $6 994 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot .

Today I realized that although Christmas is a very happy time for me that’s not the case for everybody which makes me sad. For all those who have a hard time during the Festive Season I send you my love and warmest wishes. Please know you don’t have to pretend to feel a certain way however you feel is okay. You are loved. You are wanted. YOU MATTER!

Day 2552: The One Thing I Do Most Days That Makes Me Happy

Every day strive to serve – that’s my message to the world.

It’s 12 : 31  PM on day 2552 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,  have breakfast, read Psalm 127:1  and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – raised to $3 452 only $9 048 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot .

Today it occurred to me that I’m happy most days because I serve most days I always make sure I’m giving something to someone whether it’s a compliment, my money or my time and I do so (most of the time) without any expectation that it will be repaid which is a good thing because most of the time I am ignored (it’s okay I understand people are busy I’m just a girl in a small town who presses a few buttons all day).

Day 2286: Choosing to be happy

You can’t make anything all you can choose to be is happy– that’s what I’ve realized.

It’s 12: 21 PM on day 2286 of my journey towards independence and I managed to  watch The Perfect Holiday – great movie -pray, read Micah 5: 2, have breakfast and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –raised $9 261.04 only  $3 238.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

Today I realized that you can’t make anything all you can choose to be is happy (the only person we have any control over is ourselves),

Day 2263: Be Happy Now

Be happy now– that’s my message to the world.

it’s 12: 00  PM on day 2263 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast,  read 1 Timothy 4:4-5  and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –raised $9 161.04 only  $3 338.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far )

Today I realized that if I wait for everything to be just right for me to be happy then I’ll never be happy so I’m choosing to be happy in this moment and every moment that follows because despite my occasional pain and discomfort I’m still alive and kicking.

Day 2093: The Secret to my Happiness

“When a person doesn’t have gratitude, something is missing in his or her humanity. A person can almost be defined by his or her attitude toward gratitude.” – Elie Wiesel

It’s 12 : 13 PM on day 2093 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Psalm 46: 10, have breakfast, learn one new thing -Shellfish fall into two different groups: crustaceans (like shrimp, crab, or lobster) and mollusks (like clams, mussels, oysters, scallops, octopus, or squid). Some people with shellfish allergies are allergic to both groups, but some might be allergic only to one.- and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign   – raised $5 875 only $375 more to raise before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far 🙂 ).

Yesterday I recorded a video entitled “The Secret to my Happiness” in an effort to simplify happiness I truly believe that happiness is nothing more than one part gratitude and one part giving. Watch “The Secret to my Happiness” below:

Day 1955: Keeping my peace

Nobody can take your peace from you if you don’t let them– that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 10 : 11 AM on day 1955 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Ephesians 2, learn one new thing –After the unification of Italy in 1861, when Rome was still under the control of the Papal States, Turin was declared the first capital of Italy, as it was then the capital of the Piedmont region and home of ruling the monarchs, the Savoy.– have breakfast, spend time outside – it’s such a beautiful morning here so grateful to be alive –  and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign – $1 120 raised so far so grateful 🙂 .

Today I realized that nobody can take your peace from you if you don’t let them which seems obvious but most of us give people the power to disturb our peace like it’s going out of fashion well it ends now peace, joy and happiness are my birthright and I’m staking my claim.

Day 1569: Be happy and forget the rest

Be happy and forget the rest – that’s what I keep telling myself.

It’s 12: 00 PM on day 1569 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to  brush my teeth,  pray,  read Isaiah 54, publish my Disability of the Day feature, feed myself a peanut butter sandwich and a banana  for breakfast,    promote my Educate Generations campaign– Francoise Van Rheede donated $10 yesterday (thanks SO MUCH again Francoise your support means the world to me :) ) which brings my total raised to $1 315  only $1 185 more to raise to reach goal.

This morning I found myself worrying about the future in that moment I told myself to be happy and forget the rest because life’s too short to worry about what might happen.Do you choose to be happy and forget the rest?

Day 1525: Happiness – a state of mind

“HAPPINESS IS A CHOICE. If you want it, choose it.” – Brenden Dilley

It’s 12 : 00 PM on day 1525 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray, read Isiah 12, publish my Disability of the Day feature,    publish my Kid of the Week feature, feed myself egg curry wraps and a pear  for breakfast, hang out with family and promote my Educate Generations campaign – Justina donated $10 yesterday (thank you Justina) which brings my total raised to $830 only $1 670 more to raise to reach goal 🙂

Today I was thinking about happiness I believe true happiness  is a state of mind my happiness doesn’t fluctuate depending on what happens externally what makes me happy is the kind of person I am and what I do to help others. Are you choosing to be happy?

Day 1462: Embrace the Weird in You

If doing something makes you happy do it no matter how weird it may seem to some people – that’s my message to the world.

It’s 12 : 43 PM on day 1462 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to pray, brush my teeth, go back to bed, read Psalm 150, publish my Disability of the Day feature,  feed myself  IdliSambar and chutney for breakfast and  publish my Kid of the Week feature.

Last night I watched marriage proposals on YouTube it might seem like a weird thing to do to some people but seeing other people happy makes me happy. Do you not do certain things because you don’t want people to think you’re weird?
