Day 2062: Profuse Expression of Appreciation

“Silent gratitude isn’t very much to anyone.” – Gertrude Stein

It’s 12: 21 PM on day 2062 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read John 3, have breakfast, learn one new thing – Only two kinds of egg-laying mammals are left on the planet today—the duck-billed platypus and the echidna, or spiny anteater. These odd “monotremes” once dominated Australia, until their pouch-bearing cousins, the marsupials, invaded the land down under 71 million to 54 million years ago and swept them away. –  and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign  – raised $5 724 only $526 more to raise before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far 🙂).

Today I realized although my profuse expression of appreciation may make some people uncomfortable I still need to do it because people are not mind and heart readers it’s impossible for them to know what I’m thinking and feeling unless I show them and tell them.

Day 2020: Thanks for the birthday love

The smallest acts of kindness take up the most space in your heart – that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 12 : 07 PM on day 2020 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read 1 John 5,  have breakfast, learn one new thing – In captivity, both crows and ravens have been known to live for about thirty years – tops. In the wild, the average life span of a crow is 7-8 years. –   have breakfast and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign – yesterday Samuel Kochukanayathil donated $50,  a person who i think would prefer to remain anonymous donated $25, Ellyn Harris donated $25 and Jim Mahar donated $25  (thanks so much everyone 🙂 ) which brings the total raised to raised $3 757 only $2 493  more to raise by 10 Jan 2017  (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far :)  ).

Yesterday people from all over the world called and sent messages wishing me a happy birthday I was (and am still) so touched by the love people have for me. Thank you so much to everyone for all the birthday love yesterday I love you guys too.

“Don’t just count your years, make your years count.” – George Meredith

Today is my 25th birthday and in honour of that a few days ago I recorded a video for a few people who’ve made a difference in my life (which includes you guys). Watch this:

Day 1972: Gratitude Challenge

Gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions. The more you express gratitude for what you have, the more likely you will have even more to express gratitude for. – Zig Ziglar

It’s 12 : 12 PM on day 1972 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read read 1 Thessalonians 5, have breakfast  learn one new thing – Fish need oxygen too, but since they don t have lungs, they take oxygen from the water in which they live. The oxygen in the water available to fish is called dissolved oxygen (oxygen that is dissolved in the water). Fish use gills to take oxygen from water just as we use our lungs to take oxygen from the air.–  and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign – yesterday Anatoli donated $15 and today Arunchachen donated $25 (thanks SO MUCH Anatoli and Arunchachen your support means a lot 🙂  )  which brings my total raised to $2 057  only $4 193 more to raise by 10 Jan 2017  (SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far :)  ).

Last night sitting around the dinner table I asked my mother and fifteen-year-old brother to name five things they were grateful for my brother looked at me like I was a total nutjob and asked why I believe that all our lives have energies and that the simplest way to change your life energy from negative to positive is to express gratitude so I hope all of you will take a moment daily to think about at least five things that you’re grateful for (I will ask my family to name the five things they are grateful for every night and hopefully my brother will one day actually think about it and say something other than why [a girl can dream, right? 🙂 ] ).

This morning I was thinking about those affected by the earthquake in Nepal thousands have been left dead, injured or homeless and on the other side of the world people like me have a family, food, water, shelter, healthcare and clothing I can’t describe in words how grateful I am for the life I have in this very moment. My thoughts and prayers are with Nepal.

If you would like to help those affected by the Nepal earthquake donate to the World Food Programme who are delivering much-needed food to those affected by the earthquake.

Day 1640: The things we take for granted

The things we take for granted are the things other people pray for – that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 12 :  07 PM on day 1640 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth,   pray,  read Lamentations 5, publish my Disability of the Day feature, watch the Sri Lanka vs. Scotland Cricket  World Cup match, feed myself  egg with bread for breakfast,  learn one new thing – So-called white chocolate isn’t chocolate in the technical sense — it is comprised of cocoa butter, sugar, and milk, but no actual chocolate.  –  promote my  Educate Generations campaign–  in less than 6 months 64 donations have been totalling $2 310 I’m SO GRATEFUL –    continue watching the Sri Lanka vs. Scotland Cricket  World Cup match and continue promoting the campaign –  $2 310 raised so far my heart is overwhelmed with gratitude 🙂 .

Today I ate something I wasn’t used to and thought this is disgusting forgetting for a moment that there are people in this world who would give anything to have something to eat it’s true what they say the things we take for granted are the things other people pray for.
