Day 3065: Who is a good friend?

Sometimes the duty of a friend is to help lift one out of sorrow even by unorthodox means – that’s what I was reminded of today

It’s 11: 54 AM on day 3065 since I started blogging and I managed to pray, read a Bible verse, spend time outside and do some work

Today I was thinking about what it means to be a good friend friends are not just people who show up to your parties and take pretty pictures with you friends are people who show up and stay when you need them most – sometimes the duty of a friend is to help lift one out of sorrow even by unorthodox means.

Day 2344: Me and My Unlikely New Friend

If you don’t have anything to give then give the gift of seeing people as they truly are– that’s my message to the world.

It’s 11 :  37 AM on day 2344 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,  read Isaiah 54: 10  and learn a new word – Canard [ca·nard] n. A false or unfounded rumor or story. “The tabloid included some of Hollywood’s oldest canards.”

Last night I met one of the most remarkable human beings who happens to be a priest I was struck by his easy-going nature and the fact that he saw me as human and whole not as a broken being who needed God’s healing I think he recognized that God is using me just as I am it was refreshing to meet someone from the church who didn’t think I needed fixing I absolutely loved conversing with him because he was actually talking to me not my disability.

Day 2343: God’s will and God’s Way

When God has the will He will also point the way– that’s what I’ve realized.

It’s 8 :  34 AM on day 2343 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,  read 1 John 4: 19  and learn a new word – Definitions for noblesse oblige
1.the moral obligation of those of high birth, powerful social position, etc., to act with honor, kindliness, generosity, etc.

Yesterday I thought there’s was no way I would have enough money to buy all the groceries that a local charity needed and today thanks to God and three friends I realize I may have more than enough (I’m so blessed to have amazing support from all over the world  over the world – thanks everyone).

Day 1878: Thank you to my friends and biggest supporters

Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who supports me in everything I do – that’s what I want to say.

It’s  12 :  14 PM on day 1788 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Acts 23, publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing –Excoriate [ex·co·ri·ate] v. Censure or criticize severely; Severely berate: “He was excoriated for his mistakes.”- have breakfast and work on my potential future project.

This morning I was reminded that there are some people in this life who will support me in everything I do which is humbling beyond words because I’m just an ordinary South African girl who strives to make a difference. Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who supports me in everything I do I sincerely appreciate it.

Day 1391: Eradicate AIDS goal surpassed thanks to God and all my friends

I have the best friends in the world– that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 12  : 42 PM on day 1391 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to  promote my Eradicate AIDS campaign – Wayne Mansfield of the Jindalee Foundation donated $200 (thank you Wayne)  which brings my total raised to $1 070.84 I’m so grateful and happy to have surpassed my Eradicate AIDS goal with 13 days to go  I knew God wouldn’t let me fail (thank you to God and all my friends) : ) – brush my teeth, pray,  read Psalm 78 and publish my Disability of the Day feature.

Today thanks to the $200 donation made by Wayne Mansfield and the ongoing support of many of my other friends I surpassed my Eradicate AIDS goal by raising $1 070.84 for the Elton John Aids Foundation (UK).  Thank you so much to everyone who has supported my Eradicate AIDS campaign so far  (the page will remain open until 18 July so those of you who want to donate still can) if I am great it’s only because I’m standing on the shoulders of giants.
