Recently I watched videos created by a man living in Aleppo he spoke of the fear and uncertainty of living in a warzone and I was overwhelmed by this feeling of (I feel guilty for even typing this)  gratitude for the fact that my family, friends and I were happy, heathy and safe (most of us forget how blessed we are even with all our challenges).

Day 2256: Thank You Real-Life Superheroes

Thank you to the good, kind and honest people of the world –  that’s what I’d like to say.

Today I feel bombarded by the negativity going on in the world so I’d like to pause to think about and thank all the good, kind and honest people of the world for everything that they do (both seen and unseen). Thank you Catherine Constantinides, Ella Bella Constantinides-Leite, Sebastian Schütte and the Panda Crew, Brent Lindeque, Kerri Stein, Yusuf Abramjee, Carolyn Steyn, Susannah Schaefer, Kayan Leung, Nazia Peer, Dr. Rema Matthews and all the other good, kind and honest people of the world you make the world go around.

This morning laying in bed staring at the ceiling I wondered what would become of future everything about my life is so up in the air sometimes that’s trilling and other times it’s scary as hell but however I feel I’m so grateful for this life and this day October 29, 2016 will never come again.

Day 2212: The One Thing I Keep Reminding Myself That Keeps Self-Pity at Bay

Someone else is happy with less than what I have– that’s what I keep reminding myself.

Today I figured out why I never wallow in self-pity for too long and it’s because I hold tightly to this knowledge that someone somewhere is happy with less than what I have.

Last night someone very dear to me passed away it’s been shocking and heartbreaking but I know that the pain I feel pales in comparison to what his family must be feeling he was such an amazing man so full of laughter and life and he could talk to just about anyone I will miss visiting him and just knowing he’s around.

This morning as I was listing out loud all the things I was grateful for my mom heard me say wheelchair it surprised her she repeated the word almost as if asking a question and I said something like yes, wheelchair because although I would rather not need one I am grateful to have one because I know there are people who need a wheelchair but don’t have one we must all be grateful even for the things we sometimes wish we didn’t have to have.
