Day 2464: Best Recipes from the Tasty Channel

“Cooking is like love. It should be entered into with abandon or not at all.” -Harriet van Horne

It’s 10 : 00 AM on day 2464 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast,  read Psalm 77: 11 and learn a new word – Definitions for slumberous 1. sleepy; heavy with drowsiness, as the eyelids. 2. causing or inducing sleep. 3. pertaining to, characterized by, or suggestive of slumber.

Recently I’ve become somewhat obsessed with the Tasty channel on YouTube admittedly I can’t cook (duh who would trust me in front of a stove) but still I like learning how things are made. Watch some videos from Tasty below:

Day 1644: Quitting my food police job and letting people be

You can’t make people love, value and take care of themselves – that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 12 : 05 PM on day 1644 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,    read Ezekiel 4, publish my Disability of the Day feature, publish my Kid of the Week feature, learn one new thing – The Great Barrier Reef, measuring 2,000 km in length, is the largest living structure on Earth. It can be seen from the Moon. – promote my  Educate Generations campaign  – Catherine Cook who has donated six times before donated $25 yesterday (thank you SO MUCH Catherine your ongoing support means a lot to me 🙂 )   – which brings my total raised to $2 435 only $65 more to raise to reach goal – feed myself   Idli and Chutney for breakfast, listen to music and continue reading  The Diary of A Young Girl: The Definitive Edition by Anne Frank .

Yesterday I realized that I can’t make people love, value and take care of themselves so I’m going to try not to be the food police and accept that people can and will do whatever they want no matter how bad it might be for them.

Day 1640: The things we take for granted

The things we take for granted are the things other people pray for – that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 12 :  07 PM on day 1640 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth,   pray,  read Lamentations 5, publish my Disability of the Day feature, watch the Sri Lanka vs. Scotland Cricket  World Cup match, feed myself  egg with bread for breakfast,  learn one new thing – So-called white chocolate isn’t chocolate in the technical sense — it is comprised of cocoa butter, sugar, and milk, but no actual chocolate.  –  promote my  Educate Generations campaign–  in less than 6 months 64 donations have been totalling $2 310 I’m SO GRATEFUL –    continue watching the Sri Lanka vs. Scotland Cricket  World Cup match and continue promoting the campaign –  $2 310 raised so far my heart is overwhelmed with gratitude 🙂 .

Today I ate something I wasn’t used to and thought this is disgusting forgetting for a moment that there are people in this world who would give anything to have something to eat it’s true what they say the things we take for granted are the things other people pray for.

Last night I realized despite being relentlessly teased about my super healthy eating habits I’m doing the right thing by taking care of my body because for the rest of my life I will only have this body. Are you taking care of the body you’ve been given?

Day 915

We don’t need as much as we think we do – that’s what I keep learning 🙂

This morning while eating All Bran Flakes with Soy Milk and Banana for breakfast I realized we don’t need to eat meat or meat products we just choose to being on Lent has made me think about how an animal is treated before it ends up on my plate after Lent I’m going to make a conscious effort to eat less meat after all animals are living creatures just like us. Has going without something made you realize that you don’t actually need it?

I LOVE hearing from you feel free to leave a comment below.
