Day 2355: My People

Never forget the people who saw you when you were invisible – that’s my message to the world.

It’s 11  :  36 AM on day 2355 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast, read 138: 8  and learn a new word – Glower [glow·er] v. Have an angry or sullen look on one’s face; scowl. “The librarian glowered at her for talking too loud.”

Recently I’ve been thinking a lot about the people who saw me when I was invisible those who were my friends when I had not a title to my name and only friendship to offer they are the people I will work to keep in my life because they don’t change with the seasons they will be there for me no matter what.

Day 2308: Reminiscing

“What can ever equal the memory of being young together?” ― Michael Stein, In the Age of Love

It’s 11: 38 AM on day 2308 of my journey towards independence and I managed to  pray, have breakfast, spend time with family, read Lamentations 3:25    and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –raised $10 005.04 only  $2 494.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

This morning my family and spend some time reminiscing and looking at old photos it was nice (it’s the simple things that mean the most).

Day 2296: Actions, Priorities and People

Gandhi was right actions express priorities – that’s what I have realized.

It’s 10: 31 AM on day 2296 of my journey towards independence and I managed to  -pray, read Matthew 2: 11-12  and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    – yesterday   Joubert Botha  donated $50 and Tony Seifart also donated $50  (thanks guys 🙂 )  which brings the total  raised to $9 461.04 only  $3 038.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

Today making a phone call to someone I realized that people will always and forever matter more to me than money, power, prestige or things.

Day 2285: Remember the Unloved and Forgotten this Festive Season

Remember those who feel unloved and forgotten this festive season– that’s my message to the world.

It’s 10: 28 AM on day 2285 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Isaiah 9: 6 have breakfast and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –raised $9 261.04 only  $3 238.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

This morning I read a post which reminded me that me that Christmas is not a happy time for some so I ask that all of us remember those who feel unloved and forgotten this festive season.

Day 2251: Selfish on my Own Behalf

There are times when one has to be selfish on one’s own behalf– that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 11 :  12 AM on day 2251 of my journey towards independence and I managed to  pray, read Colossians 1:13-14, have breakfast,   and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –   yesterday Stormsriver Adventures donated $50 (thanks SO MUCH for  Stormsriver Adventures) which brings the total  raised to $9011.04 only  $3 488.96  more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

This morning is one of those mornings were I feel like if the world spins off its axis without me then so be it I just need some me-time to do whatever without feeling guilty about what I should be doing but am not doing.

Day 2238: Believe in People

Everybody needs somebody to believe in them – that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 10 :  30 AM on day 2238 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast,  read 1 Peter 3: 14 and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –raised $8 161.04 only  $4 338.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

Yesterday I was reminded that each one of us needs somebody to believe in us nobody has ever succeeded without first believe that they could (even those who succeeded without anybody believing they could probably chose to believe in themselves it only takes one person to believe and sometimes that one person is you and that’s ok).

Day 2235: The Contradiction That Is Me

I am a living, breathing contradiction and that’s almost okay – that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 11 :  20 AM on day 2235 of my journey towards independence and I managed to have breakfast, pray, read Romans 5:17,  learn one new thing – Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de Leon, who led the first European expedition to Florida in 1513, named the state in tribute to Spain’s Easter celebration known as “Pascua Florida,” or Feast of Flowers. – and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –raised $8 136.04 only  $4 363.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

Today it occurred to me yet again how much of a contradiction I actually am I am fiercely independent in mind and in spirit and yet I’m so dependent on others for my physical needs, I am an optimist and a realist, I  strive to be selfless and yet sometimes I can’t see past my own needs….. I’ve stopped trying to figure myself out and have decide just to love myself contradictions and all.

Day 2233: How to Be Your Best When You Treat and React to People

Treat people better than they treat you and react to them based on your values and not your feelings and you’ll never have anything to apologize for – that’s what I realized yesterday.

It’s 11 :  09 AM on day 2233 of my journey towards independence and I managed to have breakfast, pray, read Galatians 5:24,  learn one new thing – As sea turtles are air breathing reptiles, they need to surface to breathe. Sea turtles can hold their breath for several hours, depending upon the level of activity. A resting or sleeping turtle can remain underwater for 4-7 hours.

Yesterday I realized that if you treat people better than they treat you and react to them based on your values and not your feelings you’ll never have anything to apologize for (when you decide to treat people the way they treat you or react to them based on how you feel at the time it ALWAYS ends up being a disaster because you’re in the moment but if you  make a life decision that no matter what you’re going to treat people better than they treat you and react to them based on your values then you’ll be your best in all situations).

Day 2228: The Little Things

It’s the little things we do and that are done for us that mean the most – that’s what I was reminded of yesterday.

It’s 9 :  45 AM on day 2228 of my journey towards independence and I managed to have breakfast, pray, read Psalm 112:1,  learn one new thing – Definitions for paroxysm 1)
any sudden, violent outburst; a fit of violent action or emotion: paroxysms of rage.
2) Pathology. a severe attack or a sudden increase in intensity of a disease, usually recurring periodically.– and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –raised $8 011.04 only  $4 488.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

Yesterday I was reminded that it’s the little things we do and that are done for us that mean the most. Let’s do the kind little things for each other.

Day 2227: People Before Worldly Wealth

People before money and things – that’s my message to the world.

It’s 9 : 30  AM on day 2227 of my journey towards independence and I managed to have breakfast, pray, read 2 Peter 1:16,  learn one new thing – Onerous [on·er·ous] adj. Involving heavy obligations. Involving a burdensome amount of effort and difficulty. “The court’s stipulations were onerous.”– and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –raised $8 011.04 only  $4 488.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

Today I’d like to say to our world people before money and things I feel like in this world consumed by consumerism some of us have lost (or are losing) our humanity.
