Day 1632: Educate Generations Campaign Five Months Later

This morning I found out that something I thought was going to happen was probably not going to happen I was so bummed until I realized I still had a lot to be grateful for I had my family, I had my health … all was right in my world.

Day 1574: Gratitude and Taylor Swift

“Thankfulness is the beginning of gratitude. Gratitude is the completion of thankfulness. Thankfulness may consist merely of words. Gratitude is shown in acts.” – Henri Frederic Amiel

It’s 12 : 48 PM on day 1574 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to  brush my teeth,  pray,  read Isaiah 59, publish my Disability of the Day feature, publish my Kid of the Week feature, learn one new thing – did you know that despite their size, elephants can be turned off by the smallest of critters. One study found that they avoid eating a type of acacia tree that is home to ants. Underfoot, ants can be crushed, but an elephant wants to avoid getting the ants inside its trunk, which is full of sensitive nerve endings–  promote my Educate Generations campaign–  on $1 335  – feed myself a peanut butter sandwich for breakfast and continue promoting my campaign – still on $1 335 but I’m grateful 🙂

Recently I watched a video of Taylor Swift choosing, wrapping and sending holiday gifts to some of her most loyal fans I was blown away by how humble she was and how appreciative she was for the support she had she’s a popstar with all the money and fame that anybody could ever dream of and yet what she values most are the people who helped her get to where she is and that I think is part of the secret to her success and what makes her endearing to me and all her other fans. Watch “Taylor Swift’s Gift Giving of 2014” below:

Day 1516: Problems, Perspective and Gratitude

“Just an observation: it is impossible to be both grateful and depressed. Those with a grateful mindset tend to see the message in the mess. And even though life may knock them down, the grateful find reasons, if even small ones, to get up.” ― Steve MaraboliLife, the Truth, and Being Free

It’s 1 : 49 PM on day 1516 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray, read Isaiah 3, stretch my hamstrings,   publish my Disability of the Day feature, feed myself a peanut butter sandwich and a banana for breakfast, make sandwiches for sisi’s neighborhood with sisi’s help (thank you sisi Nikiwe for all your help)  and promote my Educate Generations campaign–  still on $770 but someone promised to donate.

This morning I was stuck in my own head consumed by my own problems until I saw a photo of a child holding up a piece of paper that read I beat cancer’s butt on 01/10/14 that picture made me realize regardless of the problems I faced I still had a lot to be grateful for.

Day 1483: A Word of Thanks to my Friends

“The greatest gift of life is friendship, and I have received it.” – Hubert H. Humphrey

It’s 12 : 38 PM on day 1483 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to pray, brush my teeth, read Proverbs 21, publish my Disability of the Day feature, publish my Kid of the Week feature,  feed myself All Bran Flakes with banana  for breakfast and promote my Educate Generations campaign – my friends,  Juliet Merrell and Ann Blackburn-Pann, made a combined donation of $40 (thanks Juliet and Ann your support means the world to me) which brings my total raised to $140 only $2360 more to raise 🙂

This morning I was reminded that I have the best friends in the world my friends in the virtual world and in the real world support me in everything I do no matter how unrealistic my goals may sometimes seem. Thanks to all my friends who support me in everything I do I know this girl with a cause thing can get really old really fast but you guys put up with me anyway I appreciate that more than I can say.

Day 1391: Eradicate AIDS goal surpassed thanks to God and all my friends

I have the best friends in the world– that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 12  : 42 PM on day 1391 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to  promote my Eradicate AIDS campaign – Wayne Mansfield of the Jindalee Foundation donated $200 (thank you Wayne)  which brings my total raised to $1 070.84 I’m so grateful and happy to have surpassed my Eradicate AIDS goal with 13 days to go  I knew God wouldn’t let me fail (thank you to God and all my friends) : ) – brush my teeth, pray,  read Psalm 78 and publish my Disability of the Day feature.

Today thanks to the $200 donation made by Wayne Mansfield and the ongoing support of many of my other friends I surpassed my Eradicate AIDS goal by raising $1 070.84 for the Elton John Aids Foundation (UK).  Thank you so much to everyone who has supported my Eradicate AIDS campaign so far  (the page will remain open until 18 July so those of you who want to donate still can) if I am great it’s only because I’m standing on the shoulders of giants.

Day 1384: Staying grateful

There’s always something to be grateful for – that’s  what I keep realizing

It’s 5  : 02 PM on day 1384 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, watch movies, read Psalm 71,  publish my Disablity of the Day feature and spend time with my sister and her friend.

This morning I realized there’s always something to be grateful for sure living with Cerebral Palsy sometimes makes me feel like I’m living in a body out of a Sci-Fi movie (I know what I want to do and I know how to do it in theory but I can’t execute the movements) but I’m relatively healthy. Do you force yourself to be grateful even when you feel like there’s nothing to be grateful for?

Day 1315: Being grateful when it seems there’s nothing to be grateful for

The mere fact that I’m alive is something to be grateful for– that’s what I realized today.

It’s 12  : 50 PM on day 1315 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to pray,   brush my teeth, read Psalm 6, chat to granny on skype, read Matthew 28,   publish my Disability of the Day feature,  Kid of the Week feature, chat to more family on Skype  promote my Eradicate AIDS campaign – still on $582.85 I tried to donate m own money yesterday but for some reason my card kept getting rejected (there’s nothing wrong with the page I probably typed in my card number or address incorrectly) I contacted my bank they said they’d get back to me on Tuesday nothing’s going right for me I need a miracle (God I know you’re really busy but I would REALLY appreciate it if you could help me out please and thank you) – feed myself Puri and chicken curry for breakfast

Today I was having a bad day until I realized that the mere fact that I’m alive is something to be grateful for. Are you often grateful for the mere fact that you are alive?
