Day 1986: Me and God – a two-way street

Our relationship with God is a two-way street– that’s what I’m realizing.

It’s 12 : 28 PM on day 1986 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Titus,  learn one new thing – More than 1,500 fish species live on the reef, including the clownfish, red bass, red-throat emperor, and several species of snapper and coral trout. About 5,000 species of mollusks live on the reef. –have breakfast and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign – yesterday Joyce donated $25 (thanks SO MUCH Joyce for your support it means the world to me :) ) which brings the total raised to $2 972 only $3 278 more to raise by 10 Jan 2017  (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far :)  ).

This morning in the car heading to church my mom goes I told you it was raining to which I said God didn’t forget to wake us up because it was raining our relationship with God is truly a two-way street we can’t just be faithful when it’s convenient for us.

Day 1982: Christianity Simplified

People make Christianity more complicated than it has to be all you need to do is believe, do the right thing and treat others well – that’s what I’ve realized.

It’s 12 : 13 PM on day 1982 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read 2 Timothy 1,  learn one new thing –  Jupiter is the most massive planet in our Solar System, meaning it also has the highest gravity. If you stood on Jupiter – you cannot because it does not have a solid surface – than you would weigh two and a half times what you would on Earth.–have breakfast, and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign – yesterday Duane donated $250 (thanks SO MUCH Duane your ongoing support means the world to me  :) I know I’m a bit of a bottomless pit LOL thanks for putting up with me) which brings the total raised to  $2 912  only $3 338 more to raise by 10 Jan 2017  (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far :)  ).

This morning I was thinking about what I’ve learned after reading the Bible almost every day for more than a year and I realized people make Christianity more complicated than it has to be all you need to do is believe, do the right thing and treat others well.

Day 1977: Doing Faith

Faith is not just something you have it’s also something you do – that’s what I’ve realized.

It’s 12 : 17 PM on day 1977 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read 1 Timothy 2,  learn one new thing –Menthol is an organic compound made synthetically or obtained from cornmint, peppermint or other mint oils. It is a waxy, crystalline substance, clear or white in color, which is solid at room temperature and melts slightly above.–have breakfast and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign –  ‘My Paper Parties’ and ‘Happy Odd Girl’ donated $25 each (thanks SO MUCH guys support means the world to me :)  )  which brings my total raised to $2 132  only $4 118 more to raise by 10 Jan 2017  (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far :)  ).

Today I realized that faith is not just something you have it’s also something you do sometimes we don’t feel like praying, reading the Bible and going to church sometimes we don’t even know where God is but I think it is during those times that we should do our faith the most sorta like behaving your way back into believing.

Day 1953: “Inward Transformation”

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

– Romans 12: 2

It’s 12 : 12 PM on day 1953 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Galatians 6, learn one new thing –A nanosecond (ns) is an SI unit of time equal to one billionth of a second (10−9 or 1/1,000,000,000 s). One nanosecond is to one second as one second is to 31.71 years. The word nanosecond is formed by the prefix nano and the unit second. Its symbol is ns.– have breakfast, spend time outside  and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign – $1 080 raised so far (SO GRATEFUL:)) .

Two days ago we had the privilege of listening to a sermon titled “Inward Transformation” during the sermon Reverend Howarth talked about how the way we live our lives should be a continuation of our worship in church and how we should examine the ways of the world against the ways of Jesus and strive to be more like Jesus … in short the sermon taught us that we should be in the world but not of the world.

Day 1732: Praying through the questions

Sometimes you just have to pray through the questions – that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 12 : 05  PM on day 1732 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Jonah 4, publish my Disability of the Day feature,     learn one new thing –In the 16th and 17th centuries, Europeans believed that somewhere in the New World was a city of gold, waiting to be discovered. Despite several expeditions to South America, including two by Sir Walter Raleigh, the legendary city of El Dorado was never found.–feed myself peanut butter and banana sandwich for breakfast  and promote my Educate Generations campaign– $3 045 raised so far so grateful.

Today I was wondering why God would let someone like Jenna Lowe, who was doing so much good in the world, suffer and die while murders and rapists roam the earth free to do evil I guess some questions I’ll never get answers to so I’ll just pray through the questions.

Day 1721: My evolving relationship with Christianity

“However many holy words you read, however many you speak, what good will they do you if you do not act on upon them?” – Buddha

It’s 12 : 20  PM on day 1721 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Amos 3, publish my Disability of the Day feature, publish my Kid of the Week feature, learn one new thing –The world’s fastest primates, patas monkeys have been clocked at 34 miles (55 kilometers) per hour. While foraging, patas cover more ground over large home ranges than any primate their size. –   feed myself a peanut butter and banana sandwich   for breakfast and promote my Educate Generations campaign– $3 000 raised so far so grateful  :)  .

Recently I was thinking about my evolving relationship with Christianity when I was younger I thought to be Christian was to pray, read the Bible and go to church but now I realize to be Christian is to live in a way that reflects the values of Christ.

Day 1707: Why I Believe

Some people need to believe in heaven and in God either because they feel like they are living in hell or because they can’t do all that they are called to do solely through their own strength – that’s my answer to atheists who ask how can you believe in something which you have no proof of.

It’s 2 : 30 PM on day 1707 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,   read Hosea 6,  feed myself a peanut butter and banana sandwich  for breakfast and continue reading And the Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseni – we had no electricity since the morning but it’s back all’s well that ends well 🙂

Yesterday morning I finally had an answer for atheists who ask how can you believe in something which you have no proof of and my answer was some people need to believe in heaven and in God either because they feel like they are living in hell or because they can’t do all that they are called to do solely through their own strength there have been times in my life when I’ve been called to do things that I just knew I couldn’t do solely through my own strength but somehow I always managed to access a strength even beyond my understanding and keep going until I reached goal.

Day 1686: “Caretakers of Creation”

Sometimes doing what you don’t want to do has great rewards – that’s what I realized today.

It’s 12 : 52  PM on day 1686 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray, go to church,   read Ezekiel 45 , publish my Disability of the Day feature, publish my Kid of the Week feature, feed myself  Idli and sambar   for breakfast, learn one new thing –stipple • \ˈsti-pəl\ • verb 1. engrave by means of dots and flicks 2. apply (paint) in small dots or strokes
3. make by small short touches that together produce an even or softly graded shadow, as in paint or ink 4. produce a mottled effect–    Educate Generations campaign–$2 700 raised so far SO GRATEFUL 🙂 .

This morning I didn’t want to go to church it was cold and cloudy but I’m so glad I went because we were privileged to listen to a sermon titled “Caretakers of Creation” it was about creation belonging to God and Him entrusting us with the responsibility of taking care of it the reverend sounded like an environmentalist I wanted to stand up and cheer.

Day 1511: Less Me and More God

23 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: 2 “The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. 3 So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. 4 They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.

5 “Everything they do is done for people to see: They make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long; 6 they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; 7 they love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and to be called ‘Rabbi’ by others.

8 “But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers.9 And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven.10 Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one Instructor, the Messiah. 11 The greatest among you will be your servant. 12 For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

Matthew 23: 1-12

It’s 12 : 30 PM on day 1511 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray, read Songs of Songs 6, publish my Disability of the Day feature, publish my Kid of the Week feature, promote my Educate Generations campaign – Anonymous made a donation of $20 yesterday  (thank you SO MUCH Anonymous your contribution and support mean the world to me 🙂 )  which brings my total raised to $770 only $1730 more to raise – feed myself bread with egg for breakfast, go to church and continue promoting my campaign – still on $770 but that’s okay things could be worse 🙂

This morning in church the reverend talked about the three criticisms that Jesus had of religious leaders in Matthew 23 and although the sermon wasn’t directed at me specifically from this day forward I’m going to try to do things in a way that draws less attention to me and more attention to God.

Day 1490: Religion – a guide or an obsession?

Religion should guide you not consume you– that’s my opinion.

It’s 12 : 40 PM on day 1490 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray, read Proverbs 28, publish my Disability of the Day feature, publish my Kid of the Week feature,  feed myself peanut butter sandwiches and a banana for breakfast and promote my Educate Generations campaign – no donations so far today either but I’m not worried I know that God is working for the success of this campaign behind the scenes He will show up for me through someone I just know it.

This morning I was thinking about TV evangelists and the people who sit for hours watching them I am a proud Christian and I love priests but I feel like some Christians become obsessed with the theory of Christianity and forget to put all the things mentioned in the Bible into practice. Does religion consume you?
