It’s 9 : 58 AM on day 2466 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast, read Proverbs 3:9 and learn a new word – Definitions for expostulate
to reason earnestly with someone against something that person intends to do or has done; remonstrate: His father expostulated with him about the evils of gambling.

Today is Youth Day here in South Africa – a day that honours the youth of 1976 who fought against the introduction of Afrikaans as the medium of instruction in local schools – and in honour of that I’m sharing a video made by Michael Cost to pay tribute to all the young people who fought and died for many in South Africa. Day 2447: A HUGE Thank You to the Expresso Show

Whatever makes you different will be your calling card – that’s what I know.

It’s 1 : 38 PM on day 2447 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast, read Luke 1:46-47 and hang out with family.

Recently I went paragliding and I’m so grateful that the Expresso Show was there to share my story and to help my Superhero Catherine Constantinides and I raise awareness about the Western Sahara. Thank you Expresso Show you made my parents’ century now they can show the world that their child who was once labelled “the sick one” has a lot of good things to add to the world. Day 2398: Wind Direction

Things don’t always work out as planned– that’s what I keep learning.

It’s 5: 55 PM on day 2398 of my journey towards independence and I spent the day with my Superhero Catherine Constantinides and other special guests on Signal Hill – it was a beautiful day but the wind was not in our favour today we shall try again tomorrow (Superhero had to go but I shall try to paraglide tomorrow (please God may the weather conditions be favourable tomorrow)

Today I was meant to paraglide off Signal Hill but alas the wind was not in our favour which sucked but we shall try again tomorrow and on the plus side I did get to spend a few hours with my Superhero Catherine Constantinides (she surprised me by showing up at the hotel’s meeting room – I was so touched and humbled (thanks Superhero you’re incredible)

Day 2378: Beautiful Interruption

Be a beautiful interruption in someone’s day – that’s my message to the world.

It’s 12 : 40 PM on day 2378 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast, read 2 Thessalonians 2:15 and learn a new word – Genteel (gen·teel) adj. 1. Refined in manner; well-bred and polite. 2. Free from vulgarity or rudeness. 3.Elegantly stylish: genteel manners and appearance.

Last year on a day when I was sick Catherine Constantinides called to check on me I was so touched by that (in that moment I knew how sick kids felt when Batman or Spiderman called) and ever since then at least once a month I call someone I love or someone who has helped me in some way just to hi or thank you I’ve spoken to people from all walks of life and it was interesting to note their similar reactions to my phone calls all of them were so touched that I called I think because my phone call was proof that they mattered to someone. Be a beautiful interruption in someone’s day make a call just to say hi or thank you.

Day 2370: Catherine Constantinides at the Saharawi Refugee Camp

It’s 12 : 08 PM on day 2370 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast, read Genesis 1: 26 and learn a new word – Definitions for fusillade
1.a general discharge or outpouring of anything: a fusillade of questions. 2.a simultaneous or continuous discharge of firearms. 3.to attack or shoot by a fusillade.

Yesterday I was privileged to share Catherine Constantinides’s recent visit to a Saharawi refugee camp on my YouTube channel – the Saharawi People are from a country called the Western Sahara which has been illegally occupied by Morocco for the past 41 YEARS – every time I watch Catherine’s video I’m struck by how hot and dry the refugee camp seems it’s a wonder that human beings are able to survive there. Thanks to my Superhero Catherine Constantinides for being a voice for the Saharawi People and for allowing me to share the footage (you are truly unlike any other human being I’ve ever met remarkable in your passion, purpose, focus, humility and courage of conviction). Day 2190: Catherine Constantindes – MWF2016 Impact Story

It’s 11 : 01 AM on day 2190 of my journey towards independence and I managed to have breakfast, pray, read Psalm 128:2 and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign – raised $7 625 only $4 875 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ) ..

Day 2174: 10 Things I love about Catherine Constantinides

It’s 12 : 33 PM on day 2174 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast, read Zechariah 2:11, learn one new thing – The colour of the tongue is best described as black, blue or purple with a pink base/back. It is generally assumed that the front part of the tongue has such dark colouration to protect it during frequent sun exposure while eating and prevent the tongue from getting sunburned. – and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign – raised $7 475 only $5 025 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ) .

Today is Catherine Constantinides’s birthday and because she is my first and last forever and always superhero I wrote down 10 things that I love about her. Take a look:

Happy Birthday again superhero – I’m glad every day that you were born I hope you live to be 100 at least 🙂

Day 2136: Catherine Constantinides on Starting Point

It’s 12 : 36 PM on day 2136 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast, read Philippians 4:6-7, learn one new thing – Rum is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from sugarcane byproducts, such as molasses, or directly from sugarcane juice, by a process of fermentation and distillation. The distillate, a clear liquid, is then usually aged in oak barrels. – and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign – yesterday Nay731 donated $25 (thanks Nay) which brings the total raised to $7 015 only $5 485 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far 🙂 ) .

Recently I watched an episode of Starting Point featuring my first and last forever and always superhero Catherine Constantinides and I just have to share it (I’m so in support of everything Catherine does because although our lives are so different our beliefs and values are the same (I love the people in my life really I do but when I start talking about my crazy plans to make a difference their immediate reaction is to redirect me onto a path that they think my life should follow Catherine is one of the only people who does not do that she will never know how much I truly love her for that)). Day 1979: Ubuntu Awards, Youth Diplomacy and Catherine Constantinides

#Ubuntu is a verb, an action, a word that talks to spirit of serving others! A quality that includes essential human virtues! #UbuntuAwards – tweeted by Catherine Constantinides at the Ubuntu Awards last night.

It’s 12 : 20 PM on day 1979 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read 1 Timothy 4, learn one new thing – That’s 3 main rings and 5 dusty rings for a total of 8 rings, 9 if you count the Cassini Division. But there are even more rings around Saturn. There’s the Janus Ring, the Methone Ring Arc, the Anthe Ring Arc and the Pallene Ring, as well as the Roche Division. –have breakfast, and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign – raised $2 387 only $3 863 more to raise by 10 Jan 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

Last night the second annual Ubuntu Awards were held in Cape Town – the event is hosted by the Department of International Relations and Cooperation and celebrates South Africans who are flying the South African flag high globally – my hero without a cape Catherine Constantinides won the Youth Diplomacy award I couldn’t be happier for her honest-to-God she works her butt off and does the right thing even when nobody’s watching (whenever I think of Catherine this Bible verse automatically comes to mind: the humble shall be exalted). Congratulations Catherine I’m SO SO SO proud of you and I love you forever and a day (if you don’t become President of South Africa one day my name is not Nisha-Benny Varghese 🙂 ).

In loving memory of Graham Michael Constantinides – I never had the honour of meeting you but in all three of your children I see what kind of human being you must have been and you were indeed A GIANT OF A MAN 🙂 . Rest in peace Mr. Constantinides.

Day 1976: One Day Leader (Season 4)

It’s 12 : 05 PM on day 1976 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read 1 Timothy 1, learn one new thing – When we eat corn or peas we are eating seeds, and when we eat radish or carrot, we are eating roots. Cauliflower and broccoli plants produce flowers we like to eat. Potatoes grow under- ground, but the part we eat is not a root. –have breakfast and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign – raised $2 082 so far only $4 168 more to raise by 10 Jan 2017 (SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

Recently I watched season 4 episode 1 of One Day Leader – a TV series in which six young people showcase their leadership skills by tackling modern day South African social, economic and political issues as a way of competing for the coveted title of One-Day Leader – I love the whole idea of developing leaders over a 19-week period and look forward to watching the growth of the contestants as the season progresses. Full Disclosure: I am a little (ok A LOT) biased towards the show because my hero without a cape Catherine Constantinides is one of the judges on the show this season.
