Day 1899: Discovering the purest versions of ourselves

When we look for the best in others we find it in ourselves  – that’s what I realized today.

It’s  12 :  16  PM on day 1809 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Romans 16, publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing –There are around 10,000 varieties of tomatoes worldwide! – have breakfast, listen to music and do some work.

Today I realized when we look for the best in others we find it in ourselves every time I look for the best in others and want the best for others it’s like I transform into the purest version of myself it’s something that’s hard to explain in words but something that I wish for every human being.

Day 1894: Me and Chasing

I’m used to having to fight for approval and acceptance that’s why I chose to help people I have to chase after– that’s what I realized this morning.

It’s  12 : 20 PM on day 1804 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Romans 11, publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing  –Obfuscate [ob·fus·cate] v. Render obscure, unclear, or unintelligible. Bewilder (someone). “The eclipse will obfuscate the sun’s light.”– have breakfast and  hang  with family.

This morning I realized that I’m used to having to fight for approval and acceptance that’s why I choose to help people I have to chase after which is dysfunctional but it makes sense in a strange sort of way needless to say now that I know why I do what I do I’m so done chasing people if they don’t want or appreciate my help I’ll just take it somewhere else.

Day 1858: Picking the right people for your life journey

Know who you are, pick a few people whose values align with yours and stand with them for the rest of your life –that’s my message to my generation.

It’s  12 :  36  PM on day 1858 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Acts 3, publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing –Doleful [dole·ful] adj Expressing sorrow; mournful. “A doleful look.” Causing misfortune or grief. “Doleful consequences.”- have breakfast, make sandwiches for the kids in our sisi’s (housekeeper’s) neighborhood with sisi’s  help as part of  Virginia’s Sandwich Run (thank you sisi for all your help today) and spend time outside – I LOVE being in nature my favorite thing to do is stare at the big, blue sky I don’t know why

Recently I realized that as a direct result of knowing who I am I have subconsciously or otherwise attracted into my life people who share my values and now that they are in my life I won’t let them go for anything they don’t even know it but they are the people I choose to stand with for the rest of my life (I will be there cheering them on and helping them even when they don’t ask me to).

Day 1781: What I’ve learned about people with age

Some people love you and support your work while others just love the bi-products of your work – that’s what I’ve learned with age.

It’s 12 : 11 PM on day 1781 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Matthew 13, publish my Disability of the Day feature,    learn one new thing – Solicitous [so·lic·i·tous] adj. 1. Marked by or given to anxious care and often hovering attentiveness. 2. Extremely careful; meticulous: “solicitous in matters of behavior.” 3. Anxious or concerned: “a solicitous parent.”– have breakfast and promote my Educate Generations campaign – $3 372 raised so far (so appreciate everybody’s support 🙂 ).

This morning I was reflecting on the different types of people in my life with age I’ve learned that some people love you and support your work while others just love the bi-products of your work it hurts a bit but it is what it is.

Day 1765: People and their willingness to help

People want to help you just have to give them the opportunity – that’s what I’ve realized recently.

It’s 12 :  12 PM on day 1765  of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth,  pray, read Malachi 1,    publish my Disability of the Day feature, have breakfast, learn one new thing –Baboons are opportunistic eaters and, fond of crops, become destructive pests to many African farmers. They eat fruits, grasses, seeds, bark, and roots, but also have a taste for meat. They eat birds, rodents, and even the young of larger mammals, such as antelopes and sheep. –  and  promote my Educate Generations campaign –  Jim Mahar donated $18 yesterday (thanks SO MUCH Jim your ongoing support means more to me than you will ever know 🙂 ) which brings my total raised to $3 319.

Recently I’ve realized that people want to help you just have to give them the opportunity the young people in my life have been going all out to help me spread the word about my campaign it’s been really moving to watch. Thanks to everyone who has changed their Facebook Cover Photos and Twitter Header Photos in support of my campaign you guys have shown me that there is hope for humanity yet.

Day 1744: Focus on what’s important

I can’t make other people focus on what’s important all I can do is focus on what’s important– that’s what I realized yesterday.

It’s 12 : 05 PM on day 1744 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Habakkuk 2, publish my Disability of the Day feature,    learn one new thing –Unlike other sea turtles, hawksbills are specialist eaters. They avoid deep waters and stick to coastlines where sponges—their preferred food—are abundant. –    feed myself peanut butter and banana sandwich  for breakfast, promote my Educate Generations campaign – $3 145 raised so far – and hang out with my sister.

Yesterday after my rant about the pointless and crass things some people post on social media I realized that I can’t make other people focus on what’s important all I can do is focus on what’s important.

Day 1694: Help and People

If people don’t want to help you there’s nothing you can do to force them and if they do there’s nothing you can do to stop them – that’s what I realized yesterday.

It’s 12 : 04 PM on day 1694 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Daniel 5, publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing – Nearly everyone has flat feet at birth—the arches do not develop fully until ligaments and muscles in the soles are fully formed. Some people never develop arches.–  feed myself an egg sandwich for breakfast  and  promote my Educate Generations campaign– $2 774 raised so far :)

Yesterday someone did something really nice for me which made me realize if people don’t want to help you there’s nothing you can do to force them and if they do there’s nothing you can do to stop them.

Day 1682: 5 People I Admire and Why

Inevitably we become the sum total of the people we admire – that’s what I realized today.

It’s 12 : 22 PM on day 1682 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Ezekiel 41, publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing –Every year the mountain [Mount Everest] grows taller by 4mm as a result of the upward thrust generated by two opposing tectonic plates  –  feed myself  for an avocado sandwich for breakfast  and  promote my Educate Generations campaign–$2 700 raised so far (thanks everybody SO GRATEFUL :) ) .

Today I realized that inevitably we become the sum total of the people we admire and to prove it to myself I wrote down a list of the people I admire with the reasons why I admire them. Take a look:

5 People I Admire and Why

  1. My mom (she taught me faith)
  2. My sister (she’s three years younger than me but she taught me how to stand up for myself she doesn’t take nonsense from anybody I LOVE that about her)
  3. Nelson Mandela (he taught me forgiveness and humility)
  4. Malala Yousafzai (she taught me courage)
  5. Catherine Constantinides (she taught me how to serve with everything I have every day she does something different and awesome to make our world a better place I don’t have enough words to express how much I admire her (Catherine you’re probably blushing as you read this but really there’s no reason to blush everything I said about you is the truth and it’s how I really feel) )

(On a totally unrelated note:  I just found out that today is Earth Day so I’m going meat-free today it’s not much but every one of our actions has an impact on the environment please be kind to our planet)

Day 1680: Thou shall not change for other people

I can’t change myself for other people – that’s what I realized yesterday.

It’s 12 : 20 PM on day 1680 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,    read Ezekiel 39, publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing – A tiger’s roar can be heard as far as 2 mi (3 km) away–  feed myself  for an avocado sandwich and a banana  breakfast  and  promote my Educate Generations campaign–$2 700 raised so far SO GRATEFUL :) .

Yesterday I was interacting with someone and I debated with myself about whether or not to mention my campaign because I know some people tune me out when I do in the end I decided to mention it because it is what I’m currently passionate about and I couldn’t change myself for fear of being ignored.

Day 1648: Focus on those who love you

Forget about the people who ignore you and focus on the people who love you – that’s my message to the world.

It’s 12 :  15 PM on day 1648 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to  brush my teeth,  pray,  read Ezekiel 8, publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing – Not only is yogurt a delicious and healthy snack option, it contains high levels of lactic acid that promote healthy skin. Dating back to ancient India, yogurt has long been used as a natural moisturizer to revitalize dull, dry skin– watch the India vs. Bangladesh  World Cup match, promote my Educate Generations campaign– $2 435 raised so far I am SO GRATEFUL 🙂 –  exercise,  feed myself egg and bread for breakfast,  continue watching the cricket  and continue promoting the campaign – $65 more to raise to reach goal I’m not giving up I know God is doing this through me so the goal will be reached and who knows maybe even surpassed eventually I just have to work hard and be patient.

Recently I realized that I should forget about the people who ignore me and focus on the people who love me most of us chase after people who ignore us while totally ignoring those who are actually there for us which doesn’t even make common sense.
