Day 2820: Living in People’s Grace

“When you change the way you think, you can change the way you feel.” – David D. Burns

It’s 8 : 59 AM on day 2820 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read a Bible verse and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet –  Yesterday a donation of $50 was made which brings the total raised to $14 619 only $4 131 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to reach my new goal of helping 75 kids with Clubfoot by June 17, 2018.

Recently I’ve changed my perspective from thinking I’m living at other people’s mercy to I’m living in other people’s grace and that shift in thinking has made needing help a lot easier for me. The quality of your life is truly a reflection of the quality of your thoughts.

Day 1701: Ellen DeGeneres I need your help

“The best thing to do is stare it in the face and move on. We have to face our fears and plow through. I think taking chances takes a lot more courage than staying stagnant and doing what’s safe and comfortable.”-Terri Clark

It’s 12 :  00 PM on day 1701 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Daniel 12, publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing – The Asia Pacific region is the world’s largest energy consumer, accounting for 39.1 percent of global energy consumption, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.–  feed myself an egg sandwich and a banana for breakfast  and  promote my Educate Generations campaign– $2 899 raised so far so grateful :) .

A few days ago I recorded a message for Ellen DeGeneres asking her to help me get the word out about my Educate Generations campaign if by some miracle Ellen does see the video on YouTube and either plays it on her show or interviews me on her show via Skype I will speak not because I want to be famous or because I am the most eloquent speaker in the world but because I have the opportunity and the willingness to speak for the millions of girls deprived of an education worldwide. Watch my message to Ellen DeGeneres below:

Day 1694: Help and People

If people don’t want to help you there’s nothing you can do to force them and if they do there’s nothing you can do to stop them – that’s what I realized yesterday.

It’s 12 : 04 PM on day 1694 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Daniel 5, publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing – Nearly everyone has flat feet at birth—the arches do not develop fully until ligaments and muscles in the soles are fully formed. Some people never develop arches.–  feed myself an egg sandwich for breakfast  and  promote my Educate Generations campaign– $2 774 raised so far :)

Yesterday someone did something really nice for me which made me realize if people don’t want to help you there’s nothing you can do to force them and if they do there’s nothing you can do to stop them.

Day 1430: Are you ashamed to ask for help?

There’s no shame in asking for help– that’s my message to the world.

It’s 1  : 19  PM on day 1430 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray, read Psalm 118, feed myself bran flakes with banana for breakfast and go to the doctor – there’s nothing seriously wrong with me (thank you God) I just have an infection.

This morning I finally bit the bullet and asked my mom and another family member to take me to the doctor which is something I’d been putting off for almost a week because I didn’t want to inconvenience anyone while my dad was out of the country attending my grandma’s funeral but now that I’ve asked for help without causing myself too much embarrassment I realize there’s no shame in asking for help. Are you ashamed to ask for help?

Day 1179: Help whoever you can however you can

It doesn’t matter who you help or how you help all that matters is that you help– that’s what I realized today.

It’s 12  : 04 PM on day 1179 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to pray,  brush my teeth, edit a website for some people,  read 1 Chronicles 12, feed myself  All Bran Flakes for breakfast,   publish my Disability of the Day feature,  practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles,  stretch my hamstrings and hang out with my family.

This morning after editing a website for some people I realized it doesn’t matter who you help or how you help all that matters is that you help.  Do you only help specific people in specific ways or do you help everybody in every way that you can?
