Day 1461: Choose Happiness

When you live in the present instead of worrying about the future you choose to be happy – that’s what I learned today.

It’s 12 : 40 PM on day 1461 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, go back to bed, feed myself bread with egg for breakfast, publish my Disability of the Day feature,  pray and read Psalm 149.

Today I was having a crappy day emotionally until I decided to live in the present instead of worrying about the future I’m not saying that people shouldn’t keep their futures in mind I’m just saying the future is not a good place to live. Do you choose to be happy by living in the present instead of worrying about the future?

Day 1348:Do you choose happiness over worry whenever you have a choice?

Happiness is a choice –that’s what I want the world to know.

It’s 12  : 20 PM on day 1348 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to pray,  brush my teeth,    feed myself peanut butter sandwiches and a banana for breakfast, read Psalm 35, publish my Disability of the Day feature,   practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles, stretch my hamstrings and  promote my Eradicate AIDS campaign – still on 80% it is the weirdest thing the people I expected would help me with this campaign don’t even ask me about it and the people who don’t know me from a bar of soap are going above and beyond to help me I suppose I’m being too harsh on people they have mortgages to pay and families to support me and my campaign are probably the last thing on their minds which I understand.

Yesterday somebody was worrying about something they had no control over and me being I said something along the lines of there are so many other things to worry about like the fact that all of us are going to be underwater soon (the person I said that to didn’t find it funny at all) I recently figured out that worrying about things you have no control over is pointless so now if I have a choice between worrying and being happy I choose to be happy. Do you choose happiness over worry whenever you have a choice?

Day 1049: Happiness: The destination or the journey?

Happiness is the journey not the destination – that’s what I keep learning 🙂

It’s 2  : 34 PM on day 1049 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to  pray, brush my teeth,  feed myself  a boiled egg and All Bran Flakes for breakfast,     read Judges 8, prepare and publish my Disability of the Day feature,  publish my Kid of the Week feature   and  tweet and Facebook about my campaign – still no luck but I will reach my goal because nothing can take the place of persistence.

This morning I was thinking a lot about what it means to be happy I am not rich or famous but I’m happy most days because I’m living out my life’s purpose which I believe is to make a difference in the world.  Are you busy chasing happiness not knowing happiness is the journey not the destination?

Day 237

It only takes one moment to turn a bad day into a good one – that’s what I learned today 🙂

It’s 9: 02 PM on day 237 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, feed myself a banana for breakfast, watch TV, feed myself a KFC Creame Chesse & Sweet Chilli Twister – a wrap consisting of chicken strips, salad and sauce – for lunch, watch some more TV, feed myself a banana for dinner, tweet about my Clean Water For All Campaign – it’s been 11 days since my last donation – I keep count – and I can’t help being a ted bit in awe of my own perseverance because I know that most people in my situation would have said I give up I have my own problems to deal with but not me I’m like a cockroach I keep coming back LOL 🙂 –  and brush my teeth once more.

As you know I am generally a happy person but today I was having an awful day until I stumbled onto a cute video about animals on Facebook. Take a look:

Are we connecting on Twitter? If not, say hi at http://www.twitter.com/nisha360

Please help her do an amazing thing. http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/nisha-varghese/nishavarghese

Stan’s very sweet for saying so, but feel free to write what reflects you best.
