Day 1340: My thoughts on celebrity obsession

The people of the world talk a lot but few say anything that matters– that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 12  : 41 PM on day 1340 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Psalm 27,   publish my Disability of the Day feature,  promote my Eradicate AIDS campaign – still on 80% but a friend of mine promised to donate the remaining $197.15 meanwhile I’m going to  try to reach and surpass my goal –   feed myself peanut butter sandwich for breakfast,  practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles, stretch my hamstrings and promote my campaign some more – I’m working hard to reach goal even though the total raised hasn’t moved up an inch since 8 May.

Recently social media has been buzzing about one celebrity attacking another celebrity in an elevator and I’m sitting here thinking who cares maybe I’m a freak but I don’t get why people spend the finite amount of time they have on this planet talking about what happens in other people’s lives when they could be making their mark on the world in some way. Do you use your voice to say things that matter?

Day 1238: To be stars or to watch stars that is the question

You’re either going to watch stars live their lives or you’re going to be a star in your own life – that’s what I’ve come to realize.

It’s 1  : 39 PM on day 1238 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to  pray, brush my teeth,  read Ezra 5,  publish my Disability of the Day feature, publish my Kid of the Week feature,   feed myself egg with bread for breakfast, promote my Eradicate AIDS campaign – no donations so far today I’m trying to get featured on Upworthy and Huffington Post Impact so more people will know about my campaign I will let you guys know if anything new happens in that regard – and have lunch.

Two nights ago I was on Facebook and I saw this post inviting us to watch Miley Cyrus’s advice to Justin Bieber and the whole time I’m skimming the paragraph I’m thinking I don’t have time to watch Miley Cyrus’s advice to Justin Bieber I think somewhere along the line I decided to be a star in my own life instead of watching celebrities be stars in their lives and I’m so glad I did because I’m as happy and fulfilled as I’ve ever been. Are you too busy watching stars live their lives to be a star in your own life?

Day 325

Those who make the world’s craziness work for them will end up on top – that’s what I learned today 🙂

It’s 7: 47 PM on day 325 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, feed myself fruits for breakfast, exercise for fifteen minutes, tweet about my Clean Water For All Campaign – no luck – feed myself steamed potatoes for lunch, tweet some more about my campaign – still no luck 🙁 – watch TV, brush my teeth once more and feed myself steamed mixed vegetables for dinner.

As you know I do not understand celebrity obsession nor frankly do I care for it but after this tweet sent to me by Justina (@jval2009) RT @juliebenz: Wow!! Inspiring!! @AllCharisma: u both should check out @nisha360 she’s trying to do the same thing she is amazing I decided to embrace this celebrity obsessed culture that we live in and thought about how I could use it to make this world a better place which is when I came up with the idea of asking you guys to tweet your favourite celebrities about my campaign – use this tweet: @Nisha360 is a brave, smart young woman trying to make a better world for us all. Please help her do an amazing thing. http://bit.ly/hC7vOu or write whatever reflects you best – because let’s face it although all of us have the power to make a difference some of us can do it more easily than others. Have you ever used something you hated to your advantage?

Are we connecting on Twitter? If not, say hi at http://twitter.com/Nisha360

If you’ve given to my cause or you can’t give now, please help me by sharing my cause with others. You can tweet about it like my friend Stan Faryna. This is the tweet he uses: @Nisha360 is a brave, smart young woman trying to make a better world for us all. Please help her do an amazing thing. http://bit.ly/hC7vOu

Stan’s very sweet for saying so, but feel free to write what reflects you best.

Thanks to all my friends out there who are helping me make my dream come true: to make a better world for all of us!

Day 306

Without health life is not life; it is only a state of languor and suffering – an image of death. – Buddha

It’s 10: 47 PM on day 306 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, feed myself Batura and potato for breakfast, tweet about my Clean Water For All Campaign – no luck – feed myself oranges for lunch, prepare my Kid of the Week feature for tomorrow, tweet about my campaign some more – it’s so depressing it seems like most people care more about Marc Antony and Jlo getting divorced than they do about children dying of hunger and thirst 🙁 – read What Am I Responsible For? on Spiritual Journey of a Lightworker – a very good blog post about letting go of the things you don’t control – have dinner with my extended family – we had heaps of fun playing 30 Seconds – the board game – 🙂 – and brush my teeth once more.

At 4 AM this morning I woke up with an excruciating pain in the left-hand side of my lower back and although the same thing had happened last Friday I took the fact that it happened a second time as a sign that I should change my lifestyle – replacing all the “white foods” e.g. pasta and rice with “brown foods” e.g. whole-grain pasta and brown rice eliminating carbonated drinks, chips and fast food and adding fruits and vegetables to my diet in conjunction with thirty minutes of exercise daily – and it is my greatest hope that you will follow in my footsteps more or less making your own replacements, eliminations and additions as you go along. Are you taking care of your health so that you can live life to the fullest?
