Day 2099: Peace, Violence and Me

We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves. –  Dalai Lama

It’s 11 : 29   AM on day 2099 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Psalm 31: 24, have breakfast, learn one new thing -If you look at the heat capacity of salt water, you will find that it is less than pure water. In other words, it takes less energy to raise the temperature of the salt water 1°C than pure water. This means that the salt water heats up faster and eventually gets to its boiling point first. – and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    – raised $5 900 only $350 more to raise before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far 🙂 ).

Today I’ve been thinking about the violence that is plaguing our world it continues to make me sad that people with ability I would love to have use their abilities to inflict pain on others it’s just not fair (don’t get me wrong I can still make a difference sitting on my wheelchair it just would be a lot easier if I could walk). Peace be upon our world.

Day 1555: My thoughts on the Sydney siege

You can’t make sense out of nonsense – that’s what senseless violence is teaching me.

It’s 12 : 16 PM on day 1555 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray, read Isaiah 40,   publish my Disability of the Day feature,  feed myself a peanut butter sandwich  and a banana for breakfast, promote my Educate Generations campaign– on $1 190 -read Pakistan Taliban Kill 16 Students In School Raid – some people are so cruel it makes me so sad 🙁 -and continue promoting the Educate Generations campaign – still on $1 190 but I am grateful.

This morning I read that two people (excluding the gunman) died in the Sydney siege it’s so sad and so senseless I’m having a hard time wrapping my mind around the fact that one person would intentionally hurt so many people. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by this tragedy.

Day 1254: Religious (or are you?)

If you claim to be religious act like it– that’s my message to the world.

It’s 12  : 25 PM on day 1254 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to  brush my teeth,  feed myself All Bran Flakes for breakfast, read Nehemiah 11, pray, publish my Disability of the Day feature –  promote my Eradicate AIDS campaign – nobody donated so far today but a donation was made with my mom’s credit card yesterday on behalf of Anonymous who gave my mom a R100 to give to my campaign  (thanks again Anonymous  :) ) which brings my total raised to $315.81 I’ll say it again I have the most amazing family and friends in the entire world – and stretch my hamstrings.

This morning I was thinking about Christians killing Muslims in the Central African Republic and I couldn’t help asking myself have they not read the part in the Bible where it says thou shall not kill I am a Christian and it sickens me to know that there are people out there killing other people in the name of Christianity I wish people would act as Christian as they claim to be. Do you know people who claim to be religious but don’t act like it?
