Day 2150: Go vote South Africa

With rights come responsibilities – that’s my message to South Africa and the world.

It’s 12 : 39  PM on day 2150 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Luke 18: 42-43,  have breakfast, go and vote – the IEC were extremely efficient I didn’t even have to wait in line –      and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –   raised $7 125 only  $5 375 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far   ) .

Today is the day of the Municipal Elections here is South Africa and so I urge everyone registered to vote to go and do exactly that because with rights come responsibilities.

Day 2102: Youth Day 2016

See the problems and become the solutions – that’s my message to the youth.

It’s 1 : 56  PM on day 2102 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Psalm 68: 3, have breakfast, learn one new thing – Venus: yellowish-white; we can only see the thick layer of colorless and featureless sulfuric acid clouds. You can find more detailed info on Venus here. Earth: light blue with white clouds; oceans and light scattered by the atmosphere make Earth prevailingly blue. –  and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    – raised $5 910 only $340 more to raise before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far 🙂 ).

Today being Youth Day here in South Africa – a day that honours the youth of 1976 who fought against the introduction of Afrikaans as the medium of instruction in local schools – I’ve been thinking about my responsibility as a youth and I’ve realized that my responsibility is to see problems and become the solutions. Happy Youth Day South Africa.

Day 2058: The South African Constitution

There’s so much to love about South Africa – that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 2: 11 PM on day 2058 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read 2 Corinthians 12, have breakfast, continue reading The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto by Mitch Albom learn one new thing – Cleopatra had four children–only one survived to adulthood. Cleopatra’s first child was a son by Caesar. She also had twins, Alexander Helios and Cleopatra Selene, as well as another son, Ptolemy Philadelphos, all by Marcus Antonius. –  and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign  – raised $5 615 only $635 more to raise before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far 🙂).

Yesterday after watching an episode of One Day Leader I started reading the South African Constitution and from what I’ve read so far it’s pretty awesome South African citizens have every right known to man.

Day 2052: Happy Freedom Day

“Let freedom reign. The sun never set on so glorious a human achievement.” – Nelson Mandela

It’s 12: 41 PM on day 2052 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Matthew 23, have breakfast, learn one new thing – The average adult dog has 42 teeth: 22 in the mandible or lower jaw, and 20 in the maxilla or upper jaw. In each jaw there are 6 incisors, 2 canines, and 8 premolars. There are 6 molars in the lower jaw and 4 in the upper jaw. In adult dogs, approximate age can be determined by checking the wear on the incisors. –  and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign  -yesterday LA made a donation (thank you so much LA for always being there for me it sounds funny but i can feel the force of your love from across the ocean it’s one of the most beautiful things I’m experiencing in this life ) which brings the total raised to $5 590 only $660 more to raise before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far 🙂).

Today is Freedom Day – a day that commemorates the day in 1994 when the first democratic election was held in South Africa – I’ve been thinking a lot about freedom and what it means to be free I have freedom which gives me the right to do whatever I please and with that freedom comes a responsibility that I take very seriously, a responsibility to make South Africa and the world a better place. Thank you to South Africa’s freedom fighters who scarified everything so that my generation and generations to come would have the opportunity to make our mark on the world I promise I won’t let you down.

Day 2039: No Me Without My Country, South Africa

I wouldn’t be me without my country – that’s what I’ve realized.

It’s 12 : 35 PM on day 2039 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Revelation 16, have breakfast, learn one new thing –  Sheep belong to the genus Ovis and have 54 chromosomes, while goats belong to the genus Capra and have 60 chromosomes. The offspring of a sheep-goat pairing is generally stillborn. Despite widespread shared pasturing of goats and sheep, hybrids are very rare, indicating the genetic distance between the two species.– hang out outside  – it’s such a beautiful day outside I thought it would be a shame to waste it 🙂 – and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign –raised $5 456  only $794  more to raise by 10 Jan 2017  (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far :)  ).

Today I realized that I wouldn’t be me without my country if I lived somewhere else I probably could still do everything that I’m doing but I doubt I would believe so strongly that I can be and do anything I want to be and do there’s something about living in a country where a boy who herded sheep grows up to be president that makes you believe that you can be anything you want to be.

Day 2015: Human Rights Day 2016

“For me, human rights simply endorse a view of life and a set of moral values that are perfectly clear to an eight-year-old child. A child knows what is fair and isn’t fair, and justice derives from that knowledge.” – Tom Stoppard

It’s 12 : 25 PM on day 2015 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read 2 Peter 3,  have breakfast, learn one new thing – February 29 is a date that usually occurs every four years, and is called leap day. This day is added to the calendar in leap years as a corrective measure, because the Earth does not orbit around the sun in precisely 365 days. The Gregorian calendar is a modification of the Julian calendar first used by the Romans.  –   have breakfast and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign –Balu donated $20 (thanks SO MUCH Balu 🙂 ) which brings the total raised to $3 482 only $2 768 more to raise by 10 Jan 2017  (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far :)  ).

Today being Human Rights Day here in South Africa – a day that commemorates the Sharpeville massacre that took place on Monday, 21 March in 1960 as police opened fire on about 5 000 people who had come to the Sharpeville station to protest pass laws – I urge everyone in South Africa and elsewhere to stand up for and respect the human rights of others.

Day 1988: Brownies & downieS South Africa

For a successful entrepreneur it can mean extreme wealth. But with extreme wealth comes extreme responsibility. And the responsibility for me is to invest in creating new businesses, create jobs, employ people, and to put money aside to tackle issues where we can make a difference.” -Richard Branson

It’s 12 : 25 PM on day 1988 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Titus 3, watch Sunrise on ETV – yep you guessed it I was watching because Catherine Constantinides was on 🙂 –  learn one new thing – The speed of light in a vacuum is 186,282 miles per second (299,792 kilometers per second), and in theory nothing can travel faster than light. In miles per hour, light speed is, well, a lot: about 670,616,629 mph. If you could travel at the speed of light, you could go around the Earth 7.5 times in one second.-have breakfast and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign –  raised $2 972 only $3 278 more to raise by 10 Jan 2017  (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far :)  ).

Yesterday on Introducing Up & Coming Current.. – a vlog by Dennis Ngango – I heard about Brownies & downieS – a coffee shop and lunchroom in Cape Town that primarily serves as training centre for the intellectually disabled – I love that Brownies & downieS is trying to give people who have intellectual disabilities independence and purpose. Residents of Cape Town: Please visit Brownies & downieS and buy a brownie on my behalf (I haven’t had a brownie in ages my mouth is watering just thinking about it).

(Note: Brownies & downieS did not pay me to write this post I did it because I believe business that care deserve support.)
