Day 2798: My Attempt At Being Selfless

Nothing in life is constant except change– that’s what I’ve realized.

It’s 11: 49 AM on day 2798 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read a Bible verse, have breakfast and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet –  raised  $14 469 only $4 281 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to reach my new goal of helping 75 kids with Clubfoot by June 17, 2018.

Yesterday my mom received a call from my aunt in india saying gran has taken a turn for the worse (she’s better now but the ticket is already booked) so my mom is headed to india this evening for two weeks it will just be my dad, my brother and I with our helper helping during the day and well into the evening (dear God may I not have any gender-specific issues  or stomach issues during the nights the embarrassment would kill me) it’s going to be hard for me but my mom had a nuclear family before my existence I would be selfish if I asked her not to go to help them and selfish is something I strive not to be selfless is my goal.

Day 1759: It’s not all about me

It’s not all about me – that’s what I have to keep reminding myself.

It’s 12 : 11 PM on day 1759  of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth,  pray, read Zachariah 9,    publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing – The feisty Tasmanian devil has the fiercest bite of all, according to a group of curious scientists. They calculated the bite force of the animals, then adjusted for their size. The least weasel and the giant panda (yes, a member of the carnivore order) also ranked high. – have breakfast  and promote my Educate Generations campaign – Meg Guegan donated $30 today (thanks SO MUCH Meg for your ongoing support it means a lot to me 🙂 ) which brings my total raised to $3 301 (I can hardly believe it thank you to God and everybody who has supported (and continues to support) this campaign).

Today I realized that when people compliment people in my life on how well they take care of me (which they do I must say my family and our housekeeper help me out a lot) it’s not in an effort to make me feel like a burden it’s to make the people in my life feel good about themselves I have to keep reminding myself that it’s not all about me.

Day 1649: Your life not about you?

Your life is less about you and more about what you can do for others – that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 12 :  00 PM on day 1649 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to  brush my teeth,  pray,  read Ezekiel 9, publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing – Tigers are the largest wild cats in the world. Adults can weigh up to 363kg – that’s about the same as ten ten year olds! – and measure up to 3.3m!– promote my Educate Generations campaign– $2 435 raised so far 🙂 –   exercise, feed myself a peanut butter sandwich for breakfast, make sandwiches for our sisi’s (housekeeper’s) neighborhood with sisi’s help as part of  Virginia’s Sandwich Run (thank you sisi for all your help) and continue promoting the campaign – only $65 more to raise to reach goal.

Today I realized again that my life is less about me and more about what I can do for others I may not have an Apple Ipad Air 2 or designer clothes but I go to bed every night knowing I tried my very best to make a difference and at the end of the day that means more to me than having an Ipad Air 2 or designer clothes.
