People who feel bad about themselves will try and bring you down any which way they know – that’s what I learned today 🙁
It’s 8 :06 PM on day 347 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, tweet about my Clean Water For All Campaign – struck out – listen to music, feed myself Batura and vegetable curry for breakfast, tweet about my campaign some more– no luck but on the plus side my friend, Bonnie Squires, has been doing a great job spreading the word – thanks Bonnie 🙂 – feed myself oranges for lunch, go to physiotherapy, continue to tweet about my campaign – still no luck – and feed myself oranges for dinner.
This morning as my father was wheeling me to the bathroom he said how many of those people donated money to your campaign after you posted a notice up on our community’s website – if you have no idea what I’m talking about refer to Day 301 – and I was honest and said one he took that as an opening to say I told you not to ask for money from those people which wouldn’t have been so bad if he actually played an active role in my life – I kid you not he helps my mother take me to the bathroom (when my sister and the housekeeper aren’t available), drives me to my physiotherapist’s appointment every two weeks and pays the bills (all of which I’m VERY grateful for) that’s about the extent of his involvement in my life – although now that a few hours have passed since what he said I realize that I am more flabbergasted than hurt – if I were in my father’s shoes I would say to my child who keep in mind has more challenges than most I am SO proud of you for putting others before yourself in spite of what you go through every day instead of constantly trying to tear her down. Have you ever met someone with such low esteem that they have to make you feel bad just to make themselves feel better?
Are we connecting on Twitter? If not, say hi at http://twitter.com/Nisha360
If you’ve given to my cause or you can’t give now, please help me by sharing my cause with others. You can tweet about it like my friend Stan Faryna. This is the tweet he uses: @Nisha360 is a brave, smart young woman trying to make a better world for us all. Please help her do an amazing thing. http://bit.ly/hC7vOu
Stan’s very sweet for saying so, but feel free to write what reflects you best.
Thanks to all my friends out there who are helping me make my dream come true: to make a better world for all of us!
