Day 1867: Stressed and Blessed

I’m stressed because I’m blessed – that’s what I’ve realized recently.

It’s  12 :  06  PM on day 1867 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Acts 12, publish my Disability of the Day feature, publish my Kid of the Week feature, learn one new thing –there are three different main cocoa varieties: Forastero, Criollo and Trinatorio – go to church, have breakfast and listen to music.

Recently I realized I’m stressed (sometimes) because I’m blessed I’m blessed to have passion, purpose and a little influence. Thank you God for all my blessings.

Day 1739: Doing Your Best, Results and God

You just have to do your best and leave the results up to God – that’s what I’ve realized recently.

It’s 12 : 17  PM on day 1739 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Micah 7, publish my Disability of the Day feature,   feed myself French toast for breakfast, learn one new thing – Tarantulas don’t use webs to ensnare prey. Instead they hunt—after pouncing, they inject paralyzing venom into their prey, and then dispatch the victims with their fangs.  –  and promote my Educate Generations campaign – $3 145 raised so far so grateful :)

Recently I’ve realized that you just have to do your best and leave the results up to God it’s been a liberating realization before I used to do things and expect a favourable result whereas now I do things and let the results be whatever they will be.

Day 1634: Chance, God and Me

“Life doesn’t offers charity, it offers chance.” ― Amit Kalantri

It’s  12 : 15 PM on day 1634 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to  brush my teeth,  pray,    read Jeremiah 51,  publish my Disability of the Day feature,  learn one new thing –The infinity sign is properly known as a ‘lemniscate.’  –promote my Educate Generations campaign – Giuliana Bland donated $50 yesterday  (thanks God I knew you would answer my prayers eventually and thanks Giuliana it is people like you who make me want to be a better person the fact that you would reach out and help me having never met me in person speaks volumes about you as a person) which brings my total raised to $2 124  only $376 more to raise 🙂 – feed myself a peanut butter sandwich and an apple for breakfast and  continue promoting the campaign -$2 124 raised so far SO GRATEFUL 🙂  .

Today I remembered that I could have died twice in my life once (I think) when I had pneumonia as a baby and then again during my back surgery in my early teens thankfully my life was spared both times which makes me think God has a purpose for my life that is greater than anything I could ever imagine I am going to do my best not to get in the way of God’s purpose for my life.

Day 1511: Less Me and More God

23 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: 2 “The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. 3 So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. 4 They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.

5 “Everything they do is done for people to see: They make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long; 6 they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; 7 they love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and to be called ‘Rabbi’ by others.

8 “But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers.9 And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven.10 Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one Instructor, the Messiah. 11 The greatest among you will be your servant. 12 For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

Matthew 23: 1-12

It’s 12 : 30 PM on day 1511 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray, read Songs of Songs 6, publish my Disability of the Day feature, publish my Kid of the Week feature, promote my Educate Generations campaign – Anonymous made a donation of $20 yesterday  (thank you SO MUCH Anonymous your contribution and support mean the world to me 🙂 )  which brings my total raised to $770 only $1730 more to raise – feed myself bread with egg for breakfast, go to church and continue promoting my campaign – still on $770 but that’s okay things could be worse 🙂

This morning in church the reverend talked about the three criticisms that Jesus had of religious leaders in Matthew 23 and although the sermon wasn’t directed at me specifically from this day forward I’m going to try to do things in a way that draws less attention to me and more attention to God.

Day 1153: Embracing how you feel

However you feel it’s okay– that’s what I keep learning.

It’s 12 : 03 PM on day 1153 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to pray, brush my teeth,  read 2 Kings 11,   publish my Disability of the Day feature, feed myself boiled egg and Bran Flakes for breakfast, spent time outside, practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles and hang out with my sister.

This morning I found myself a little pissed at God for making me work so hard just to get through each day and I felt so guilty God has given me so much how could I be mad at Him but then I realized however I feel it’s okay. Do you often feel guilty for feeling how you feel?

Day 1063: Growing in love

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

13 This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. 16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for  us.

God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. 17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. 18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

19 We love because he first loved us. 20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. 21 And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.

– 1 John 4:7-21

It’s 1  : 16 PM on day 1063 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth,   pray, read Ruth 1,   publish my Disability of the Day feature, publish my Kid of the Week feature,  go to church,  feed myself  boiled egg and All Bran Flakes for breakfast  and  tweet and Facebook about my campaign –  no one donated so far today but I’m not worried I know God is working through me helping me reach this goal 🙂

Today at church our reverend talked about growing in love he said I’m paraphrasing Christian saints felt deeply loved by God and that caused them to love others that made sense God loves me not because of anything I did or didn’t do but just because why can’t I love other people the same way I am going to try that no matter what anybody does or doesn’t do I will love them like God loves me. Do you love others the way God loves you?

Day 1056: Why God sometimes says no to you?

God hears and answers all our prayers it’s just that sometimes the answer is no – that’s what I keep learning.

It’s 12  : 04 PM on day 1056 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth,   pray, read Judges 15,   publish my Disability of the Day feature, publish my Kid of the Week feature,   feed myself  boiled egg and All Bran Flakes for breakfast,  practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles and  tweet and Facebook about my campaign –  no one made a donation so far today either *sigh*

A couple of days ago I read  God Isn’t Healing My Child With Cerebral Palsy – a thought-provoking blog post that investigates claims of a miraculous healing – and I knew that a lot of people who read that post would be thinking if God has the power to heal people why does He heal some people and not others I believe God hears and answers all our prayers  it’s just that sometimes the answer is no growing up if I remember right I prayed for the ability to walk if God had given me what I had asked for I probably wouldn’t have raised money to build a well in Kenya or done any of the other great stuff I’ve done so you see sometimes God says no to you because he’s got something better  planned for you. Do you think God didn’t hear you when He answers your prayers with a no?

Day 967: God works in mysterious ways

God works in mysterious ways – that’s what I keep learning 🙂

It’s  1  : 47 PM on day 967 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray, read Numbers 20, publish my Disability of the Day feature, take off my dirty t-shirt and put on a clean one,  stretch my hamstrings, practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles,  feed myself All Bran Flakes for breakfast,  practice typing with both hands, read Project Hope on Chasing Rainbows and listen to music – I love the song Mirrors by Justin Timberlake it’s so sweet the song is actually dedicated to his grandparents and you could really tell because there was so much thought that was put into every single frame of that music video.

Today after reading Project Hope on Chasing Rainbows any shred of doubt I had about the existence of a higher power has disappeared to find out your pregnant a day after the death of your child if that isn’t the work of God I don’t know what is. Congratulations Kate and Ed I will be  praying that all goes well.

I LOVE hearing from you feel free to leave a comment below.

Day 937

Seek to impress man and you shall always be miserable; seek to impress God and you shall always be content – that’s what I keep learning.

It’s 5  : 08 PM on day 937 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to take off my dirty t-shirt and put a clean t-shirt on,  brush my teeth, pray, feed myself All Bran Flakes for breakfast,  read Leviticus 17,   publish my Disability of the Day feature, publish my Kid of the Week feature, practice typing with both hands and try to clean myself in the bathroom.

Yesterday something happened which made me realize there’s a small part of all of us that wants to impress others thing is the people who are impressed by us today are the same people who will stone us tomorrow so I aim only to impress God because His opinion of me will never change regardless of how much I have or what I do. Do you seek to impress man or God?

I LOVE hearing from you feel free to leave a comment below.

Day 297

A few hours can make a huge difference – that’s what I learned today.

It’s 7: 29 PM on day 297 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, feed myself leftovers from last night’s barbecue for breakfast, watch TV, tweet about my Clean Water For All Campaign – no luck – listen to music, tweet about my campaign some more – still no luck 🙁 – and feed myself rice and curry for dinner.

Last night while listening to music I thought that the best way for me to pray was through my actions but today as I awoke to the overpowering smell of urine – my grandma had urinated on our bedroom floor yesterday morning – I realized that there was nothing I could do to fix her so I prayed Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory. for ever and ever. Amen. I am sorry for every bad thing I’ve ever done please help my grandma surely all my good deeds count for something. Has a few hours changed your whole life?
