Day 1860: My New Experiences in 2015 (So Far)

You can have everything you want you just have to actively work to get it – that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s  12 :  15  PM on day 1860 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Acts 5, publish my Disability of the Day feature, publish my Kid of the Week feature,  have breakfast and learn one new thing – When traveling through water, sound moves around four times faster than when it travels through air – have breakfast and hang out with family,

Last night I was thinking about how at the beginning of this year I wanted new experiences and how to a certain extent I had had those new experiences I so desperately wanted I’m so grateful for everything i’ve been able to do so far this year. Take a look at the list of new experiences I’ve had in  2015 (Note: These experiences range from really meaningful to inconsequential).

My New Experiences in 2015 (So Far)

  • Raised $5 000+ for the Malala Fund by 3 October 2015 [more than double my original goal] [thanks SO MUCH to everybody who helped out I will be forever grateful]
  • Visited Josh Minter, his staff and the kids at  UThixo Ulungile Ministries [it was one of the best days of my 24 years of life]
  • Played a role in an orange tree being planted in our garden
  • Played a role in getting blankets for some people in our housekeeper’s neighbourhood [I’m honoured and privileged to be in a position to serve special thanks to my parents who backed this project]
  • Read 9 new books
  • Had Tim Tams [ delicious  Australian biscuit brought to us by my cousin from Australia]

Day 1571: 2015 To-Do List

“Make New Year’s goals. Dig within, and discover what you would like to have happen in your life this year. This helps you do your part. It is an affirmation that you’re interested in fully living life in the year to come.” – Melody Beattie

It’s 12 : 21 PM on day 1571 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to  brush my teeth,  pray,  read Isaiah 56, publish my Disability of the Day feature, feed myself chicken curry with bread  for breakfast, promote my Educate Generations campaign– still on $1 315 – and hang out with people.

Today marks the first day of the year and in honour of that I took the liberty of writing down some of my goals for 2015. Take a look:
