Day 1189: Goodbye Nelson Mandela

“Death is something inevitable. When a man has done what he considers to be his duty to his people and his country, he can rest in peace. I believe I have made that effort and that is, therefore, why I will sleep for the eternity.” ~ Nelson Mandela

It’s 12  : 00 PM on day 1189 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to  pray,  brush my teeth, read 1 Chronicles 22,  publish my Disability of the Day feature,  publish my Kid of the Week feature,    feed myself boiled egg and oats for breakfast and  hang out with my family.

As you may or may not know today is Nelson Mandela’s funeral I’ve been sad that he’s no longer with us ever since I heard that he died but now I realize although he has stopped breathing he lives in each of us whose lives he touched. Rest in peace Madiba I will never forget you.
