Day 1120: Live in the what is

Live in the what is and not in the what could have or should have been– that’s what I keep learning.

It’s 1 : 21 PM on day 1120 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, feed myself boiled egg and All Bran Flakes for breakfast,  pray, read 2 Samuel 23,    publish my Disability of the Day feature and tweet and Facebook about my campaign – nobody donated so far today either in spite of my best efforts.

Recently someone close to me said again poor thing if you could walk you would have done so many things I’ve heard variations of that from many people and I know it’s not meant as an insult but when you wake up every day and try to make the world a better place and still hear people say if you could walk you would have done so many things you can’t help but feel insulted I guess I have to be patient and show people that I can do great things even if I can’t walk. Are you always thinking about what could have or should have been instead of making the best of what is?

Isn’t it shocking how ignorant & closed minded some people are! Its funny how people comment on what you “could have done/been” when infact you’re the one achieveing, learning, teaching & inspiring others whilst making a huge difference to the world! I believe Everything happens for a reason and most of the time we don’t know why but I know you don’t need the use of your legs to achieve GREAT things!! Just look at Stephen Hawkings! And you don’t have to show anyone that you can achieve great things – you ARE already achieving great things and those around you should be able to see that! So whilst people have the use of there legs they’re blind to the greatness around them!! XXX
