Day 826

Those who live in what could have been miss what is– that’s what I keep learning 🙁

It’s  6 : 10 PM on day 826 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to  stretch my hamstrings, brush my teeth,  publish my Disability of the Day feature,   practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles, practice typing with both hands, feed myself brown rice and curry for lunch and watch TV.

This morning my mom was saying if you could you would do so much to help me thing is I can do a lot – I built a well in Kenya (while living in South Africa and sitting on a wheelchair), I got myself on the October issue of Longevity magazine,  I can eat by myself, I can drink by myself and if everything I needed to make a sandwich was within reach I could even make my own sandwich –  only she won’t give me the chance to and that I guess is my message to  parents of kids who have special needs give your kids a chance they can do more than you think. Are you missing out on what is because you live in what could have been?
