Day 509

Most of us have more than we need– that’s what I learned today 🙂

It’s 8 : 23 PM on day 509 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, work, prepare and publish my Disability of the Day feature, work some more, feed myself rice and curry for lunch, drink tea by myself, continue working, feed myself nectarines for dinner – our neighbour came to visit and brought fruits she’s the most talkative person I’ve ever met but that’s okay I found it quite endearing 🙂 –  brush my teeth once more and  pray and read Genesis 20 as part of my ongoing quest to learn more about the Bible.

Today I was helping my brother with his EMS – Economic Management Science – project – he had to create a collage separating needs from wants – and for the life of me I could only thing of seven things that we actually needed to survive oxygen, food, water, shelter, clothing, healthcare and education which leads me to the conclusion that most of us are living a life of excess I mean really who needs two of everything why can’t we give whatever we have leftover or don’t use to people who need it more than we do. Do you take what you need and give the rest away or hoard all your resources?

Are we connecting on Twitter? If not, say hi at http://twitter.com/Nisha360

If you’ve given to my cause or you can’t give now, please help me by sharing my cause with others. You can tweet about it like my friend Stan Faryna. This is the tweet he uses: @Nisha360 is a brave, smart young woman trying to make a better world for us all. Please help her do an amazing thing. http://bit.ly/hC7vOu

Stan’s very sweet for saying so, but feel free to write what reflects you best.

Thanks to all my friends out there who are helping me make my dream come true: to make a better world for all of us!
