I don’t think you ever stop giving. I really don’t. I think it’s an on-going process. And it’s not just about being able to write a check. It’s being able to touch somebody’s life. ~ Oprah Winfrey
It’s 8 : 20 PM on day 542 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, work – in between work I prepared and published my Disability of the Day feature – drink tea by myself, feed myself a peanut butter sandwich for breakfast, work some more, feed myself rice and curry for lunch, watch TV, feed myself a peanut butter sandwich for dinner and brush my teeth once more.
As you know my Clean Water For All Campaign ended on March 5th 2012 and although it’s only been three days I already miss actively giving so I have decided to start 21 for 21 – a campaign which asks all those who can to donate $21 ($1 for every year that I’ve been alive) to the United Nations World Food Programme (a donation of $1 = 4 cups of food) the campaign ends on 25 March 2012 (the day of my 21st birthday) – all those interested in helping out can click the ‘Donate’ button below and donate $21 to my PayPal account which I will donate to the World Food Programme at the end of my campaign on my birthday (Note: I will forward my donation receipt to all donors in the interest of transparency).
(Update: The campaign is now over I donated a total of $252 to the United Nations World Food Programme)
