Day 1915: Fun

You can have fun anywhere– that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 8 :  33 AM on day 1825 of my journey towards independence and day 11 of our India trip 2015 prayed, read 1 Corinthians 7, learned one new thing – Acrid [ac·rid] adj. Having an irritatingly strong and unpleasant taste or smell. Angry and bitter. “An acrid odor filled the room.” – and had breakfast

Yesterday we went nowhere and yet I still had the best time just me and a book it was pure bliss.

Day 1579: I love Cape Town

Cape Town is one of the best cities   in the world – that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 4 : 19 PM on day 1579 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray, read Isaiah 63, go to Canal Walk, see my sister’s new dorm room and go to Charly’s bakery.

Yesterday after an eleven and a half hour journey we arrived in the beautiful city of Cape Town I LOVE this city the weather is lovely, the population is diverse and there’s so much to do.

Day 1398: Return of mom and brother

Absence truly makes the heart grow fonder – that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 4  : 05  PM on day 1398 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth,  pray, read Psalm 85,  publish my Disability of the Day feature, go to the airport to fetch my mom and brother,  feed myself rice and curry for lunch and go with my sister to drop stuff off at her friend’s house.

This morning my mom and my brother returned from their trip to India I really have missed them we don’t realize how much the people in our lives add to our lives until they are not part of our lives.

Day 1383: Beginning of a mom and brother free two weeks

No matter who leaves I will be fine– that’s  what I know.

It’s 12  : 52 PM on day 1383 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to pray, brush my teeth, read Psalm 70,  publish my Disability of the Day feature, promote my Eradicate AIDS campaign – still on 88% (sigh)- go drop my mom and brother at the airport -feed myself  bran flakes  for breakfast, watch I Married Who? – it’s a movie about a movie star marrying an average girl after a drunken night everybody knows how it will end but it was still sweet – practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles and stretch my hamstrings.

This morning my mom and my brother left for a two week trip to India so it will just be my dad, my sister and I at the house it will be different but fun.

Day 1329: Top 8 Places to Visit in Cape Town

The best places on earth are on our doorsteps – that’s what I realized over the past two days.

It’s 1  : 53 PM on day 1329 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to pray,   brush my teeth, read Psalm 16,  publish my Disability of the Day feature, publish my  Kid of the Week feature, feed myself  egg with bread for breakfast  and promote my Eradicate AIDS campaign – I extended my campaign by 4 days to make up for the days that I was on vacation so now my campaign ends on 18 July 2014.

Yesterday evening we – my family and I – returned from our two day Cape Town vacation and I feel like it’s my duty to tell you where to go if you ever find yourself in Cape Town so I compiled a list of the places to visit in Cape Town. Take a look:

Top 8 Places to Visit in Cape Town

  1. Robben Island – it’s the island where Nelson Mandela and other anti-apartheid activist were imprisoned during apartheid  (we didn’t get to go there this time because it was fully booked but when I went last time I left there knowing how small I was and how great I could be).
  2. Table Mountain – Table Mountain was voted one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World some time ago and rightly so from the top of the mountain you can see the sea and the city it’s breathtaking (we went there on a public holiday so the cues very long but because I was on a wheelchair they allowed me and a few others who were with me to go through first we had to wait about fifty minutes for our other family members to join us at the top of the mountain and when everyone finally got there I reminded that there were stairs almost everywhere on that mountain (it’s a heritage site so they can’t alter it in any way to make it more accessible) so I could only go around the perimeter of the mountain but that’s okay I still enjoyed it).
  3. Cape Point – it’s a scenic landform  (we didn’t go there this time because it was too far from where our apartment was).
  4. Canal Walk – the second largest mall in South Africa (that mall has everything you could ever want from designer clothes to electronics while there my sister, my brother and I stopped by at Marcels for some frozen yogurt I had the English Toffee frozen yoghurt it tasted good I could believe it was yogurt and not ice-cream).
  5. Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden – it’s a garden with all sorts of flowers and trees (I really enjoyed seeing the flowers and trees but what I enjoyed more than that was seeing  mothers on the grass tickling their children, families picnicking… stuff that you don’t usually see in this day and age).
  6. Two Oceans Aquarium – it’s a large aquarium with different kinds of marine life (I loved the starfish, the purple jellyfish and the predators exhibition – a part of the aquarium that’s set up like a gallery so you can sit or stand on the top floor and watch sharks swimming in the huge tank -)
  7. Grand West Casino – it’s the best casino in Cape Town (my sister and I don’t gamble so we hung out with our brother in the arcade while the others went gambling I felt so bad that we were giving our brother money to play with while just kilometres down the road some people didn’t have proper roofs over their heads but as my sister pointed out it was fun for our brother)
  8.  V & A Waterfront – it’s a mall with a view of the ocean.

Day 1328: Day 2 of Cape Town Vacation

All good things must come to an end – that’s what I keep learning.

It’s 5  : 00 AM on day 1328 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to pray, brush my teeth and get on the minibus heading back home.

Yesterday on the second and final day of our Cape Town vacation we went to the V&A Waterfront – a beautiful mall with an ocean view – and the Two Oceans Aquarium – an aquarium with all sorts of cool sea creatures including my favorites the purple jellyfish and the starfish.

Day 1327: Day 1 of Cape Town Vacation

Routine is good but having different experiences are what makes life worth living– that’s what I realized yesterday.

It’s  8  : 09 AM on day 1327 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, get changed – we  are going to the V & A Waterfront and maybe we’ll hit some museums and the aquarium – and pray.

Yesterday on day 1 of our Cape Town vacation we saw Table Mountain – one of the most beautiful most mountains in the world – Canal Walk – one of the largest shopping malls in South Africa – Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden and Grand West Casino.

Day 1325: Impromptu vacation to Cape Town

“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” ― Augustine of Hippo

It’s 5  : 00 AM on day 1325 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to pray, brush my teeth and get on the minibus (read explanation in the paragraph below).

A few days ago my family decided that we would go sightseeing with our family members who are visiting from America so as you read this I’m probably on a twelve journey from my hometown to the world famous city of Cape Town apparently there’s free Wi-Fi where we are going to stay so if time allows I will be blogging from Cape Town for the next two days otherwise I will publish Thursday’s and Friday’s blog posts on Saturday evening when I get back home.
