Day 1915: Fun

You can have fun anywhere– that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 8 :  33 AM on day 1825 of my journey towards independence and day 11 of our India trip 2015 prayed, read 1 Corinthians 7, learned one new thing – Acrid [ac·rid] adj. Having an irritatingly strong and unpleasant taste or smell. Angry and bitter. “An acrid odor filled the room.” – and had breakfast

Yesterday we went nowhere and yet I still had the best time just me and a book it was pure bliss.

Day 1887: Fun and Me

You don’t always have to be doing something world-changing sometimes it’s okay to do things just for fun– that’s what I realized last night.

It’s  12 : 36 PM on day 1797 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Romans 4, publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing  –Definitions for inconnu 1) a person who is unknown; stranger. 2. Also called sheefish. a game fish, Stenodusleucichthys, of fresh or brackish northernwaters. – have breakfast and go with mom to buy stuff for my current local project – my mom is so adorable the whole time we were at the shop she was worried about what people would think of her making me hold the shopping basket (because you know she couldn’t push me and the big trolley at the same time) i couldn’t care less what people thought LOL 😉

Last night I realized you don’t always have to be doing something world-changing sometimes it’s okay to do things just for fun sometimes it’s cool just to hang out watching cheesy movies, listening to music or reading a good book.

My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by the Paris Attacks. I stand with the world as we call for an end to violence and terrorism. An attack against one country is an attack against all countries because there are no borders humanity stands united.

Day 1723: Taking responsibility for your life and fun

I am responsible for my own life – that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 12 :  00 PM on day 1723 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Amos 5, publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing  –The barrier islands and tidewater area from the Carolinas through Georgia into northern Florida is the traditional home of the Gullah. Also known as the Geechee and the Sea Islanders, the Gullah descend from freed slaves who formerly worked the rice fields and cotton plantations in this low-lying area.  feed myself a peanut butter and banana sandwich for breakfast and promote my Educate Generations campaign–   Catherine Cook who has donated eight times before donated $25 yesterday (thank you SO MUCH Catherine you will never know how much your generosity has changed me we’ve never met in person and yet you have gone above and beyond to help me make a difference you’re extraordinary 🙂 ) which brings the total raised to $3 025.

Yesterday it dawned on me that I hadn’t really had fun in a long time and the sad part was I had nobody to blame but myself I am responsible for whatever happens or doesn’t happen in my life.

Day 1606: Chill out

I need to chill out – that’s what I realized today.

It’s 12 :  49 PM on day 1606 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth,  pray,  read Jeremiah 23, publish my Disability of the Day feature,  learn one new thing – The first Ferris wheel was built by a man named George Ferris in 1893 for the Chicago World’s Fair, also known as the Columbian Exposition. It was intended to upstage the Eiffel Tower (the main attraction from the 1889 Paris Exhibition). The original Ferris Wheel was 264 feet tall and carried 2,160 people in 36 cars –    promote my Educate Generations campaign– $1 750 raised so far so grateful -feed myself a peanut butter sandwich  and a banana for breakfast and continue promoting the campaign – Beverly Bernhardt donated $20 (thanks SO MUCH Beverly) only $730 more to raise 🙂

Today I realized that I need to chill out my mom teasingly calls me grandma because I act twice my age most of the time I know I need to laugh more and have more fun but I can’t seem to find the time to do that and accomplish all my goals.

Day 1003: Having fun and not guilty feeling about it

I deserve to have fun  – that’s what I learned today 🙂

It’s 3 :  37 PM on day 1003 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, stretch my hamstrings, practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles, feed myself an egg sandwich for breakfast, fix technical problems with the laptop – somehow malware got on this laptop and it was interfering with this blog thankfully it was an easy problem to fix – publish my Disability of the Day feature,   pray,  read Deuteronomy 20,    tweet and Facebook about my campaign –  no luck –  and practice typing with both hands.

Today I realized I deserve to have some fun too for the longest time when I wasn’t helping people or bettering myself I would feel guilty like I was wasting my life or something but today I remembered the  immortal words of John Lennon time you enjoyed wasting, was not wasted.  Do you feel guilty every time you do something pointless but fun?

Day 259

Rules are a cautious person’s excuse for not participating in life – that’s what I learned today 🙂

It’s 7: 15 PM on day 259 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, tweet about my Clean Water For All Campaign –no luck – read and leave comments on Connor’s Song and A Deaf Mom Shares Her World – both very inspirational blogs about life, love and overcoming the odds 🙂 – feed myself a polony sandwich for breakfast, watch TV, email Kidz – a disability website – my story – holding thumbs that they’ll publish it 🙂 – feed myself rice and curry for lunch, watch some more TV, feed myself Pizza for dinner and brush my teeth once more.

Today I stumbled onto an article called 30 Things A Woman Should Not Try Before 30 and while I did agree with some of the things on that list I believe that rules are highly overrated so I say live your life the way you want to as long as you don’t hurt yourself or anybody else in the process because at end of the day the best things in life are unplanned. Have you sucked all the fun out of your life by walking around with a checklist in the back of your mind?
