Day 2309: Platforms, Trust and Responsibility

With the platforms we have come trust and responsibility ― that’s what I have realized

It’s 11: 03 AM on day 2309 of my journey towards independence and I managed to  pray, have breakfast, spend time with family, read Isaiah 2:22   and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –raised $10 005.04 only  $2 494.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ) (my family members gave me $61 in cash for the campaign i’ll donate it on their behalf as soon as my dad returns from work this afternoon).

This morning I realized that with the platforms we have come trust and responsibility (people just hand me their money [for me to donate in their behalf to my campaigns] it scares me to death how much people trust me I know I would never misuse any money people give me for charitable purposes I value my character too much to do that but still sometimes I wish people didn’t trust me so blindly it’s so much pressure for someone my age).

Day 2010: Social Media and The Responsibility We ALL Share

With great influence comes great responsibility– that’s my message to the world.

It’s 12 : 29 PM on day 2010 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read 1 Peter 3,  learn one new thing –Eratosthenes calculated the circumference of the Earth without leaving Egypt. Eratosthenes knew that at local noon on the summer solstice in the Ancient Egyptian city of Swenet (known in ancient Greek as Syene, and now as Aswan) on the Tropic of Cancer, the Sun would appear at the zenith, directly overhead.–have breakfast and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign – raised $3 337 only $2 913 more to raise by 10 Jan 2017  (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far :)  ).

Today I was thinking about social media and influence thanks to social media everybody now has the power to broadcast their message which is awesome but with that power comes a responsibility to spread a message of gratitude, generosity, love, courage, peace and hope I strive to share content that promotes gratitude, generosity, love, courage, peace and hope I want to be a light in a world that oftentimes seems to be filled with darkness.

Day 1873: The fact of life I’m finding hard to deal with

Everybody is responsible for their own lives – that’s a fact of life I’m finding hard to deal with.

It’s  12 :  23  PM on day 1873 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Acts 18, publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing –Lugubrious [lu·gu·bri·ous] adj. Looking or sounding sad and dismal; mournful. “The lugubrious country song reminded her of an ex-boyfriend.”- have breakfast and work on my potential future project.

Today I was reminded that everybody is responsible for their own lives where they end up will be a direct consequence of their action or inaction (Note to self: Live your life and let other people live theirs if something happens to them as a consequence of their action or inaction it won’t be on your head I swear).

Day 1752: Scary thought, Responsibility and Life

God and us are all the world has got so we must speak about the issues that matter even when we feel like nobody’s listening – that’s the scary thought I had last night.

It’s 12 : 24  PM on day 1752 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth,  pray, read Zachariah 2,    publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing – Sometimes called the Third Pole, the Tibetan Plateau has nearly 37,000 glaciers on the Chinese side alone. The plateau—the highest and largest in the world—supplies water to nearly a third of the world’s people. –  feed myself  Chapati and chicken curry for breakfast and promote my Educate Generations campaign –Clare and Julie donated $18 each to my campaign (thanks Clare and Julie) which brings my total raised to $3 235 :) .

Last night I had a thought which scared me and put a lot of pressure on me as a human being God and us are all the world has got so we must speak about the issues that matter even when we feel like nobody’s listening.

Day 1723: Taking responsibility for your life and fun

I am responsible for my own life – that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 12 :  00 PM on day 1723 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Amos 5, publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing  –The barrier islands and tidewater area from the Carolinas through Georgia into northern Florida is the traditional home of the Gullah. Also known as the Geechee and the Sea Islanders, the Gullah descend from freed slaves who formerly worked the rice fields and cotton plantations in this low-lying area.  feed myself a peanut butter and banana sandwich for breakfast and promote my Educate Generations campaign–   Catherine Cook who has donated eight times before donated $25 yesterday (thank you SO MUCH Catherine you will never know how much your generosity has changed me we’ve never met in person and yet you have gone above and beyond to help me make a difference you’re extraordinary 🙂 ) which brings the total raised to $3 025.

Yesterday it dawned on me that I hadn’t really had fun in a long time and the sad part was I had nobody to blame but myself I am responsible for whatever happens or doesn’t happen in my life.

Day 1626: Influence, Responsibility and Celebrities

With influence comes responsibility – that’s my message to celebrities.

It’s  12 : 00 PM on day 1626 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to   brush my teeth, pray,    read Jeremiah 43,  publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing – Big Ben doesn’t refer to a clock; it’s actually the name for the bell inside that famous clock tower  –  feed myself  a peanut butter sandwich and a banana for breakfast, have a foot bath –  my foot seems to be alright (yay thanks God 🙂 )– and promote my Educate Generations campaign –  my friend, Stan Faryna, who has donated to this campaign once before made another donation of $20 yesterday (thanks Stan  your friendship and ongoing support means the absolute world to me 🙂 ) which brings my total raised to $2 050  only $450 more to raise.

Recently I saw a picture of a celebrity in her 20’s posing half-naked for a magazine cover I try to be as non-judgemental as possible and it is my firm belief that a woman should be able to do whatever she pleases with her body but if I were in a position to influence young girls I would never pose for a photo half-naked because I believe it is the responsibility of my generation and the generation before me to teach the younger generation that they are human beings of worth not just objects of lust.

Day 1019: Taking responsibility for your life

Growing up means taking responsibility for your past, present and future – that’s what I learned today 🙂

It’s 1  : 38  PM on day 1019 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to  brush my teeth, feed myself a boiled egg and All Bran Flakes for breakfast, pray, try to clean myself in the bathroom – I tried my best but ended up having to ask for help I can’t explain to people who haven’t experienced it what it’s like to need someone to help you wipe yourself it’s SO humiliating I die a little each time –             read Joshua 2,  publish my Disability of the Day feature,   take off my dirty turtleneck and t-shirt and put on a clean t-shirt, make sandwiches as part of Virginia’s Sandwich Run with our housekeeper’s help – today I made sandwiches thinking of Nelson Mandela his whole life has been dedicated to serving others I think he would be happy that the next generation is keeping his legacy of service alive 🙂 –    and practice typing with both hands.

Today I realized blaming other people for the things they didn’t teach me and the things I didn’t learn wasn’t going to do me any good because at the end of the day I and only I am responsible for where I end up in life.  Have you taken responsibility for your past, present and future?
