Day 2994: The Illusion of Perfection

Not everything needs to be done perfectly – that’s my message to the world

It’s 1: 47 PM on day 2994 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read a Bible verse and do some work

Today is madness in my house the carpenter is her fixing the ceiling, mom’s in a frenzy cooking for her relatives arriving tomorrow, trying to make sure the house is tidy  and everything’s  perfect but the truth of our lives is that nothing is ever perfect or easy but mom tries her best every day to mask that because she really wants us to be like other families only we are – other families struggle and they aren’t perfect either but they too choose not to share that thus giving the world an illusion of perfection. We would all be a lot less tired if we just gave up trying to maintain the illusion of perfection I hope there comes a day when mom realizes that not everything has to be perfect for her to be perfectly happy (she must be exhausted!)

Day 2092: Being Happy and Perfection

Your life doesn’t have to be perfect for you to be perfectly happy – that’s what I realized yesterday.

It’s 12 : 39  PM on day 2092 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Proverbs 18: 10, learn one new thing – Having more than five fingers is a little more complicated because it can be a dominant or recessive trait, depending on what genes are involved. If polydactyly is caused by just a single gene that only affects the number of fingers or toes and nothing else, then it is typically a dominant trait. –  have breakfast, make a few videos  and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign   – raised $5 875 only $375 more to raise before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far 🙂 ).

Yesterday I realized that your life doesn’t have to be perfect for you to be perfectly happy you just have to count your blessings and strive to be a blessing.

Day 1750: My Quest for Non-Existent Perfection

“Strive for continuous improvement, instead of perfection.” – Kim Collins

It’s 12 : 05  PM on day 1750 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Haggai 2, publish my Disability of the Day feature,  feed myself  Appams with vegetable curry and chicken curry for breakfast, learn one new thing – The stately giraffe hardly springs to mind as a beast with a body odor problem, but anyone who’s whiffed one knows better. Researchers have found 11 chemical compounds in giraffe hair, some quite malodorous. –  and promote my Educate Generations campaign – $3 199 raised so far (thanks so much everyone I’m so grateful) .

Today I realized that I am my own worst critic I strive for perfection in everything I do even though I know that there’s no such thing as perfect.

Day 1402: Do you try to do things perfectly or do you just try to do things to the best of your abilities?

Don’t try to do things perfectly just try to do things to the best of your abilities – that’s what Cerebral Palsy has taught me.

It’s 3  : 05 PM on day 1402 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to stretch my hamstrings, practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles,  brush my teeth,  pray, read Psalm 89,  publish my Disability of the Day feature, feed myself egg curry wraps for breakfast,  promote my Eradicate AIDS campaign –no luck – and go visit people

This morning after trying to help myself in the area of personal hygiene I realized my aim in life should be to do things to the best of my abilities not to do things perfectly.  Do you try to do things perfectly or do you just try to do things to the best of your abilities?

Day 794

Life is not about being perfect and doing everything perfectly it’s about waking up every day and doing your best  – that’s what I keep learning 🙂

It’s  2  : 19 PM on day 794 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to  brush my teeth, feed myself All Bran Flakes for breakfast, publish my Disability of the Day feature, practice typing with both hands, stretch my hamstrings, practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscle and watch TV.

Today I wanted to do something that my mom usually does for me so I asked her if I could, she said yes (I know it was hard for her I’m so proud of her) and I went ahead and did it I didn’t do it perfectly but I did my very best that I think is the biggest lesson that Cerebral Palsy has taught me you don’t have to be perfect and do everything perfectly to be happy as long as you do your best every day you’ll get where you want to be eventually. Do you wake up every day and do your best?

I LOVE hearing from you feel free to leave a comment below.
