Day 768

Wherever you go carry your culture and traditions – that’s what I learned today 🙂

It’s 5 : 19 PM on day 768 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to  brush my teeth,  publish my Disability of the Day feature, go to an Indian church service and feed myself rice and curry for lunch.

Today while at the Indian church service I couldn’t help comparing the western church service to the Indian church service in western church services you can show up whenever you feel like, there’s no particular dress code, the services last for a maximum of an hour, there’s no preparation before you take Holy Communion whereas, Indian church services are three hours long, you’re not allowed to eat or drink anything before you take Holy Communion, women have to wear scarves on their heads… it’s just more intense I’m glad I got to experience that again because it showed me how important it was to pass on our culture, traditions and religious practices on to the next generation. Have you abandoned your culture and traditions to fit into the western world?

I LOVE hearing from you feel free to leave a comment below.
