Day 2585: What Happened? Curiosity and An Opportunity

May we all be as honest as children– that’s my hope for the world.

It’s 11: 15  AM on day 2585 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,  read  Daniel 7:13-14 and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – A HUGE thanks to Shajan uncle and Lissy aunty who donated $50 which brings the total raised to  $4 337 only $8 163 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot.

Recently I was somewhere and this little boy came up to me and asked what happened? (referring to me being on a wheelchair) I almost burst out laughing I loved the child’s honesty and the ease with which he asked the question my mom told me to ignore him I ignored her and replied I was born this way it’s cool to be different to which he said oh and walked away (I didn’t explain my medical condition because I thought he was a little too young to understand but it was important that I use that moment to teach him that there’s beauty in diversity).

Day 2411 : When Opportunity Knocks

When opportunity knocks don’t worry about details – that’s what I’ve had to tell myself.

It’s 12 : 15  PM on day 2411 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, have breakfast, read Revelation 22:17   and learn a new word – Austere [aus·tere] adj. 1. Markedly simple without adornment or ornamentation. “An austere office;” “An austere writing style.” 2. Strict or stern in appearance or manner. “He was an austere movie critic.”

Today I was presented with a great opportunity and although it presents some challenges I’m choosing to just immerse myself in the amazingness of this opportunity and this moment.

Day 1748: Opportunity and Going for the Kill

When you have the opportunity to win you have to go for the kill – that’s what I learned yesterday.

It’s 12 : 35 PM on day 1748 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Zephaniah 3, publish my Disability of the Day feature,        feed myself egg and avocado sandwich  for breakfast, learn one new thing –The Vredefort Dome, southwest of Johannesburg, is part of the largest known asteroid impact site on Earth. The astrobleme, or scar stretches 186 miles wide and is estimated to be some two billion years old.– and promote my Educate Generations campaign – $3 145 raised so far (I’m so grateful thanks everyone) .

Yesterday in a playful situation I learned that when you have the opportunity to win you have to go for the kill I sometimes see opportunities to get ahead but I don’t take those opportunities in the interest of being fair there’s nothing wrong with playing fair but sometimes playing fair gets you left behind.

Day 1656: Missed Opportunity and a Teachable Moment

When you get an opportunity take it– that’s my message to myself and the world.

It’s 12 :  00 PM on day 1656 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to  brush my teeth,  pray,  read Ezekiel 16, publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing –Polar bears actually have black skins and colourless hair.Their thick, hollow hairs reflect light to give its white-looking coat. Not only does this act as great camouflage in the snow, but it also makes very effective insulation.– feed myself an avocado sandwich for breakfast, promote my Educate Generations campaign– $2 558 raised so far I have a feeling we can raise $3000+ by October 3, 2015 with God working through us but we’ll have to wait and see 🙂 – and read 50 Ways to Brighten up Someone’s Day.

Recently I had a golden opportunity and I let it slip through my fingers because I felt like the setting wasn’t right to grab the opportunity if I could go back in time and do things differently I would but since I can’t I’m sharing my experience in the hopes that it will stop someone from making the same mistake.
