Cut your parents some slack– that’s what I learned today
It’s 4 : 59 PM on day 884 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray, feed myself Bran Flakes for breakfast, read Exodus 4, publish my Disability of the Day feature, practice typing with both hands, practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles, take off my dirty t-shirt and put a clean t-shirt on, stretch my hamstrings, feed myself rice and curry for lunch and watch TV.
Today reading No More Tears – a blog post about the sadness and hopes of a special needs father – I wondered if my parents dream of me walking and realized I was too hard on them it must be so hard for them to see me struggle with things that come easily to them and know that they can’t do anything to change it. Are you too harsh on your parents?
I LOVE hearing from you feel free to leave a comment below.
