Day 2010: Social Media and The Responsibility We ALL Share

With great influence comes great responsibility– that’s my message to the world.

It’s 12 : 29 PM on day 2010 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read 1 Peter 3,  learn one new thing –Eratosthenes calculated the circumference of the Earth without leaving Egypt. Eratosthenes knew that at local noon on the summer solstice in the Ancient Egyptian city of Swenet (known in ancient Greek as Syene, and now as Aswan) on the Tropic of Cancer, the Sun would appear at the zenith, directly overhead.–have breakfast and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign – raised $3 337 only $2 913 more to raise by 10 Jan 2017  (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far :)  ).

Today I was thinking about social media and influence thanks to social media everybody now has the power to broadcast their message which is awesome but with that power comes a responsibility to spread a message of gratitude, generosity, love, courage, peace and hope I strive to share content that promotes gratitude, generosity, love, courage, peace and hope I want to be a light in a world that oftentimes seems to be filled with darkness.

Day 1904: Platforms and Circles of Influence

Everybody has platforms through which they can make a difference – that’s what I know.

It’s  12 : 28 PM on day 1815 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read 1 Corinthians 5, publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing  –Bugs Bunny was the second cartoon character to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame; the first was Mickey Mouse–  have breakfast and do some work.

This morning I was thinking about our reverend, Ian, he’s not monetarily  rich or famous but every Sunday from his pulpit he talks about issues that matter and in so doing makes a difference just goes to show everybody has platforms through which they can make a difference.

Day 1626: Influence, Responsibility and Celebrities

With influence comes responsibility – that’s my message to celebrities.

It’s  12 : 00 PM on day 1626 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to   brush my teeth, pray,    read Jeremiah 43,  publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing – Big Ben doesn’t refer to a clock; it’s actually the name for the bell inside that famous clock tower  –  feed myself  a peanut butter sandwich and a banana for breakfast, have a foot bath –  my foot seems to be alright (yay thanks God 🙂 )– and promote my Educate Generations campaign –  my friend, Stan Faryna, who has donated to this campaign once before made another donation of $20 yesterday (thanks Stan  your friendship and ongoing support means the absolute world to me 🙂 ) which brings my total raised to $2 050  only $450 more to raise.

Recently I saw a picture of a celebrity in her 20’s posing half-naked for a magazine cover I try to be as non-judgemental as possible and it is my firm belief that a woman should be able to do whatever she pleases with her body but if I were in a position to influence young girls I would never pose for a photo half-naked because I believe it is the responsibility of my generation and the generation before me to teach the younger generation that they are human beings of worth not just objects of lust.

Day 1185: How Nelson Mandela continues to influence my life

People you have never met can influence you in more ways than you ever thought – that’s what I keep realizing.

It’s 12  : 47 PM on day 1185 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to  pray,  brush my teeth, feed myself Bran Flakes and boiled egg for breakfast, read 1 Chronicles 18,  publish my Disability of the Day feature,    practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles, practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles, stretch my hamstrings  and hang out with my family.

Last night somebody was being particularly unforgiving and I couldn’t help thinking about Nelson Mandela he forgave the people who put him in jail for 27 years and we hold onto petty things from today onwards whenever I think I can’t forgive someone I will think of Nelson Mandela coming out of jail prepared to forgive his jailers. Have you been influenced by people you’ve never met?
