Day 312

No single person can liberate a country. You can only liberate a country if you act as a collective. — Nelson Mandela

It’s 8: 10 PM on day 312 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, feed myself whole-grain bread and avocado for breakfast, tweet about my Clean Water For All Campaign – ‘Anonymous’
made a donation – thanks Anonymous 🙂  – feed myself chicken briyani for lunch, tweet some more about my campaign – no further luck – watch TV,  feed myself whole-grain bread and avocado for dinner, watch some more TV and brush my teeth once more.

As you know before 1994 South Africa was a very racially divided country and that manifested itself in sports as well – white people only watched and played rugby while black people only watched and played soccer – until 24th June 1995 when Nelson Mandela walked onto the field donning his green and gold jersey – green and gold are South Africa’s national colours – and matching cap to hand over the Webb Ellis Cup – it is tradition that the president of the hosting country hands over the Rugby World Cup trophy – to then Springbok – that’s what we call our rugby team – captain Francois Pienaar and with just forty-nine days to go before we have to defend our title as world champions – the second time around – I would like to take this opportunity to wish the Boks luck and teach those of who know nothing about rugby a little something. Take a look at the video below:

Are we connecting on Twitter? If not, say hi at http://twitter.com/Nisha360

If you’ve given to my cause or you can’t give now, please help me by sharing my cause with others. You can tweet about it like my friend Stan Faryna. This is the tweet he uses: @Nisha360 is a brave, smart young woman trying to make a better world for us all. Please help her do an amazing thing. http://bit.ly/hC7vOu

Stan’s very sweet for saying so, but feel free to write what reflects you best.

Thanks to all my friends out there who are helping me make my dream come true: to make a better world for all of us!
