Day 2769: To Be Devine and To Err

Try to be divine more than you err – that’s my message to the world.

It’s 11: 40 AM on day 2769 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Acts 2: 32-33,  have breakfast  and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – A HUGE thanks to Jackie & Ajay who donated $100 which brings the total raised to  $13 684 only $5 066 more to raise by June 17, 2018 to reach my new goal of helping 75 kids with Clubfoot by June 17, 2018.

This morning I was thinking about all the greats of history and it occurred to me that though all made mistakes they all did more good than bad and I hope to follow in their footsteps and be divine more times more than I err.

Happy Birthday Superhero thanks for all that you are, all that you do and all that you’ve taught me but most of all thanks for always always showing up for me I still can’t believe you excused yourself from a meeting with some of the country’s most influential names to come paragliding with me  I can’t tell you how much it meant to me to be chosen by you nobody ever picks me when something comes up I’m usually the first thing to be dropped but you chose me and continue to choose me every time you include me in all the moments of your life….. THANK YOU I will always love you to the moon and more than the stars.

Day 2494: Say Hello It May Just Change Your Life

A simple hello can lead to a thousand wonderful things– that’s what I realized recently.

It’s 12 : 10 PM on day 2494 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray,  have breakfast, read Matthew 7: 13-14 and promote my 50 New Feet Campaign benefiting MiracleFeet – raised to $1 750 only $10 750 more to raise  by June 17, 2018 to help 50 kids with clubfoot .

Two days ago I was sitting outside and I decided to formally introduce myself to our gardener and ask him why he was still working at his age I’m so glad I did because I found out his name is Dickson and that he works through his pain to support his 5 grandchildren who his children have basically abandoned my heart went out this hardworking man with the hugest of hearts whose life has reminded me that everybody has a story and that the world’s most extraordinary people roam the Earth disguised as ordinary men and women.

Day 849

More often than not extraordinary people are not rich or famous they are just people like you and me who make the best of what they’ve got – that’s what I keep learning 🙂

It’s  2 : 11 PM on day 849 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to  take my t-shirt off, stretch my hamstrings, put a top on – the top had slits near the sleeve so today I did need help getting my left hand in its sleeve – brush my teeth, feed myself Batura and baked beans for breakfast,  publish my Disability of the Day feature, practice typing with both hands, watch TV and practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles.

Today I watched Wright’s Law – a documentary about Jeffery Wright (a teacher, husband and father of two, one who has Joubert Syndrome) – on Love That Max what struck me most about Jeffrey is that he chose to see his son’s “disability” in a positive light and use it to help his students. Watch this extraordinary man’s story:

I LOVE hearing from you feel free to leave a comment below.
