Day 804

I wouldn’t change having Cerebral Palsy for anything  – that’s what I keep learning 🙂

It’s  2  : 03 PM on day 804 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, publish my Disability of the Day feature,  publish my Kid of the Week feature,  go to church, feed myself an egg sandwich for breakfast, practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles, practice typing with both hands and stretch my hamstrings.

Yesterday I read It’s a difficult question for any disabled person to answer: would I want to be cured? – a post in which Sarah Ismail reflected on whether she would want to be cured of Cerebral Palsy if there was a cure –I felt the same way that Sarah did I do wish I could do things like drive but would I trade all the lessons I learned about perseverance, tolerance and empathy living with Cerebral Palsy to be able to drive ABSOLUTELY NOT. Would you change that which makes you different just to fit in?

I LOVE hearing from you feel free to leave a comment below.
