There’s opportunity in every struggle – that’s what I learned today 🙂
It’s 11: 41 PM on day 369 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, publish my Kid of the Week feature – I forgot that today was Saturday and not Sunday LOL 🙂 – watch the Rugby World Cup match: South Africa vs. Fiji – we won 🙂 – feed myself toast and scrambled eggs for breakfast, tweet about my Clean Water For All Campaign – no luck other than the two donations Bonnie (@bonnie67) made – thanks Bonnie 🙂 – go to Onam– (a celebration which originated in India which our community tries to replicate wherever they are in the world) it was a mixture of song, dance and food my family members have got some moves (I am not biased I swear)(see pictures of me at the event below) – and brush my teeth once more.
We are attending an annual event in our community calendar this afternoon and although I am usually a wallflower at these type of things today I have made a conscious decision that I will interact with people because I believe I have Cerebral Palsy so that I can show the general public that “disabled” people are just like everybody else. Are you able to spot opportunity in times of adversity?
Are we connecting on Twitter? If not, say hi at http://twitter.com/Nisha360
If you’ve given to my cause or you can’t give now, please help me by sharing my cause with others. You can tweet about it like my friend Stan Faryna. This is the tweet he uses: @Nisha360 is a brave, smart young woman trying to make a better world for us all. Please help her do an amazing thing. http://bit.ly/hC7vOu
Stan’s very sweet for saying so, but feel free to write what reflects you best.
Thanks to all my friends out there who are helping me make my dream come true: to make a better world for all of us!
