Day 1334: 3 Advantages of Being in a Wheelchair

There are some advantages that come with being in a wheelchair – that’s what I realized two days ago.

It’s 1  : 34 PM on day 1334 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray,  read Psalm 21,   publish my Disability of the Day feature,   promote my Eradicate AIDS campaign – no luck so far today but my aunties from America gave me $200 yesterday (thank you God and thank you aunties) which I donated to Eradicate AIDS on their behalf which brings my total raised to $802.85 I’m so grateful and happy 🙂 –  feed myself bran flakes for breakfast,  practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles, stretch my hamstrings and promote my campaign some more – still on $802.85 so far today but it’s better than being on $602.85.

Two days ago after voting I realized that there are some advantages that come with being in a wheelchair (I’ll admit the disadvantages of being in a wheelchair far outweigh the advantages of being in a wheelchair but still there are advantages) and I took the liberty of listing them. Take a look:

3 Advantages of Being in a Wheelchair

  1. I seldom have to wait in line (wherever I go whether it’s at the polling station or at the airport when I show up people either make way or I jump the queue another way I’m like a living VIP pass both my family and I think it’s pretty cool)
  2. I always have a parking space (wherever I go there’s a parking space reserved especially for me only a few people in the world can say that)
  3. I get to meet really cool people (oftentimes when I’m out in public strangers come up to me and start a conversation I will never forget this one time my sister and I were waiting for our dad to come pick us up from the movies and this woman asked if I had CP when my sister asked how she knew the woman told us about her daughter who died who also had CP)
