Day 876

Cut people some slack– that’s what I keep learning 🙂

It’s 2 : 05 PM on day 876 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to pray,  stretch my hamstrings, take off my dirty t-shirt and put a clean t-shirt on, practice sitting up straight to strengthen my core muscles, brush my teeth,  feed myself All Bran Flakes  for breakfast, read Genesis 46,  publish my Disability of the Day feature and practice typing with both hands.

Today after watching John W. Quinn’s vlog, Top 10 Things Not To Do/Say To Someone With Cerebral Palsy, I realized we as “disabled” people are oversensitive to everything that is said and done to us people could be staring at me because I’m in a wheelchair or they could be staring at me because I’m so pretty (LOL) how I am supposed to know I, for one, am going to make an effort to stop thinking that everything that is said and done to me is said and done to me because I’m in a wheelchair.  Are you too harsh on people?

I LOVE hearing from you feel free to leave a comment below.

It’s true, you are pretty! I am very sensitive to stares as the child of a mom with CP. I know sometimes I’m overly so. But sometimes, people gawk in a very rude way, and that gets to me. (As you know!)

Aww… thanks Ellen 🙂 I know it must be hard for you to see people stare at Max in a rude way just ignore them or explain that Max has CP.
