God has a wicked sense of humor– that’s what I learned today 🙂
It’s 8 : 06 PM on day 502 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray, read Genesis 13 as part of my ongoing quest to learn more about the Bible, reply to a comment on this blog, prepare and publish my Disability of the Day feature, feed myself an egg sandwich for breakfast, work, make sandwiches on behalf of Virginia’s Sandwich Run, exercise for a few minutes – my brother was using the laptop – work some more, feed myself rice and curry for dinner and brush my teeth once more.
Today while making sandwiches I remember thinking how ironic it was that I who found it difficult to even hold a knife wanted to help people while the rest of the people in the house who could do everything by themselves were busy watching movies eventually my mother helped me grudgingly which irritated me because I believe that you should NEVER EVER see helping others as a chore I guess my family is just a microcosm of the world nowadays most people see helping others as an obligation or as a means to make themselves look good in the eyes of others it makes me really sad. Have you ever felt like you were the bud of God’s joke?
Are we connecting on Twitter? If not, say hi at http://twitter.com/Nisha360
If you’ve given to my cause or you can’t give now, please help me by sharing my cause with others. You can tweet about it like my friend Stan Faryna. This is the tweet he uses: @Nisha360 is a brave, smart young woman trying to make a better world for us all. Please help her do an amazing thing. http://bit.ly/hC7vOu
Stan’s very sweet for saying so, but feel free to write what reflects you best.
Thanks to all my friends out there who are helping me make my dream come true: to make a better world for all of us!
