Every year brings with it its own lessons and those who don’t learn from their mistakes are doomed to repeat them– that’s what I realized.
It’s 11: 39 AM on day 2300 of my journey towards independence and I managed to pray, read Romans 8: 28 and work on my 25 Smiles Campaign –raised $9 625.04 only $2 875.96 more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).
Today being the last day of the year I’ve decided to share some lessons I’ve learned in 2016. Take a look:
6 Lessons Learned in 2016
- Christianity is really simple people make it complicated – all the Bible basically says is have faith, be a good human being and do the right thing.
- With help I can do anything – going ziplining taught me that with help I can do anything (before that I thought doing physical things was out of the question for me).
- The people who really love you are those who saw you when you were invisible to the rest of the world – this year has taught me that most people will applaud you and claim to know you when times are good but those that really love you are those who saw you and those who were there for you when you were invisible to the rest of the world.
- Fear is a feeling and courage is a decision – most of the things I did this year I did in spite of being afraid not because I wasn’t afraid which made me realize fear is a feeling and courage is a decision.
- Without health everything else is a meaningless – there were a few months this year that I just kept getting sick (I couldn’t catch a break) which makes me appreciate my health.
- The truth is stranger than fiction – Donald Trump is going to be President of the United States of America (yikes) and the UK will exit the EU (double yikes).
Happy New Year, Nisha.
Same to you
