It’s 12 : 00 PM on day 1674 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray, read Ezekiel 33, continue reading How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie – we had loadshedding (enforced power cuts) for two hours this morning so I decided to make the best of it and read never will I give Eskom (the power company) the power to ruin my day 🙂 – publish my Disability of the Day feature, learn one new thing – Helium is the second-most abundant element in the universe, though it is much less common on Earth. – feed myself an egg sandwich for breakfast and promote my Educate Generations campaign– $2 638 raised so far
Yesterday I watched “Dove Choose Beautiful” – a campaign in which Dove put up signs that read “beautiful” and “average” above the entryways of shopping centres in five cities, San Francisco, Shanghai, Delhi, London and Sao Paulo, and watched as women contemplated about which door to enter – I was so touched by the campaign whoever comes up with ideas for Dove’s ad campaigns should receive some sort of award.
