Day 2247: The Present Short Film

“Most humans are never fully present in the now, because unconsciously they believe that the next moment must be more important than this one. But then you miss your whole life, which is never not now.” – Eckhart Tolle

It’s 11 :  03 AM on day 2247 of my journey towards independence and I managed to  pray, read Deuteronomy 11:8 , have breakfast,   and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign    –   B and Gaynor donated $250 (thanks SO MUCH for Gaynor and B) which brings the total  raised to $8 961.04 only  $3 538.96  more to raise to reach my second goal of raising $12 500 for Smile Train before Jan 10 2017 (SO SO SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has supported this campaign so far ).

A while ago I watched an animated short film called The Present I don’t usually like this type of thing but this story was so touching I fell in love with it. Watch The Present below:

I’ve seen the video before and it was nice to see it again. I like the “happy” ending.

As for the now, when is the now? And how useful is the now to you, individually, as it happens?

Myself, I’m not convinced that the now is imminently as useful and enlightening to us (you and me) as Zen buddhists and Eckhart seem to suggest. Nor can most of humanity afford to “sit” and “soak up” the now like a Buddhist monk who sits for many hours every day and lives/eats from the work and trial of others. Most people got to go to work, earn a living, pay the bills, and do things which include planning, etc. The curse of work, you know from your bible studies, was laid upon us at the garden.

Of course, the now, at certain moments, can be useful, revealing, restful, refreshing, etc. But when? I wonder.
