Day 1948: Brent Lindeque, The Good Stuff and the GoodThingsGuy

“People don’t know what heroes are anymore. The “heroes” the world worships are the self-inflated, hedonists given to narcissism with a penchant for crying ‘Peace, peace!’ while coddling a lust for war in their hearts.

Look for the true heroes.
They have been and will be in our midst, but they’re harder to spot.

The true heroes are predisposed to serving not self-gain. They are seldom loud and bombastic. The true heroes make sacrifices for the greater good, but don’t mistake their gentleness of spirit for weakness. If it becomes necessary, they will fight, to their last breath, for peace.”

It’s 11: 40 AM on day 1948 of my journey towards independence and I managed to  have breakfast, pray, read Galatians 1, learn one new thing –The ability of worker ants to carry many times their own body weight is well documented, but new research on heavy-lifting ants reveals that the neck joint of a common American field ant can withstand pressures up to 5,000 times greater than its own body weight.–  and work on my  25 Smiles Campaign – $715 raised so far only $5 535 more to raise in 361 days (SO GRATEFUL to everyone who has helped out so far :)).

Recently I’ve become somewhat obsessed with The Good Stuff and GoodThingsGuy.com – a radio show and blog by Brent Lindeque – Brent not only highlights the good happening everywhere he also goes out there and does good….this dude walks his talk and I absolutely love him for it. Thank you Brent for being you and for all the good you do I know you didn’t sign up to be anybody’s hero but you’re totally one of my heroes.
