Day 1829: “My Inner Life with Asperger’s” by Alix Generous

“Mild autism can give you a genius like Einstein. If you have severe autism, you could remain nonverbal. You don’t want people to be on the severe end of the spectrum. But if you got rid of all the autism genetics, you wouldn’t have science or art. All you would have is a bunch of social ‘yak yaks.’ “- Temple Grandin

It’s 12 : 13  PM on day 1829  of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to pray, read Luke 19,    publish my Disability of the Day feature,  learn one new thing – The temperature of the Indian Ocean makes it difficult for phytoplankton to grow in most areas, which is required as a food source to support life in the ocean. This is one of the main reasons for the limited marine animal life in the Indian Ocean when compared to the world’s other oceans. – and promote my Educate Generations campaign – $4 900 raised so far (thanks SO MUCH everyone).

Yesterday I watched “My Inner Life with Asperger’s” – a Ted Talk by Alix Generous about her life with Asperger’s Syndrome and how she is helping others on the Autism spectrum through the technologies created by her company, Autism Sees – it takes a lot to make me laugh but I was laughing the whole time I was watching this talk I absolutely love Alix’s sense of humour.
