You need to celebrate all that you’ve accomplished while keeping in mind that there’s a lot still to be accomplished – that’s what I keep realizing.
It’s 12 : 10 PM on day 1570 of my journey towards independence and I’ve managed to brush my teeth, pray, read Isaiah 55, publish my Disability of the Day feature, feed myself egg with bread and a banana for breakfast and promote my Educate Generations campaign– still on $1 315 but I’m grateful 🙂 .
Yesterday I took a look at my 2014 to-do list and crossed a few goals off. Take a look:
2014 To-Do List Reviewed
Improve my health (according to some people I’m grossly underweight I’m starting to think they’re right)[goal status: achieved – my body weight has increased to the point where every system in my body is functioning as it should]Be more respectful of and honest with everybody[goal status: achieved I think – I tried to be respectful of and honest with everybody this year]- Self-publish my book Life: My thoughts on everything from faith to beauty [goal status: still to be achieved]
- Support myself financially through this blog [goal status: still to be achieved]
Raise money for the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS[goal status: achieved – see https://www.justgiving.com/Eradicate-AIDS/]- Raise money to send a few kids to school [goal status: currently working on it – see https://www.classy.org/fundraise?fcid=355198]
Continue to make sandwiches for our housekeeper’s neighbourhood as part of Virginia’s Sandwich Run[goal status: achieved]- Learn to fully undress and redress myself [goal status: still to be achieved]
- Learn to help myself in the bathroom properly [goal status: still to be achieved]
Continue trying to finish reading The Bible[goal status: achieved – I’m on Isaiah 55 right now]- Read 52 good books [goal status: semi-achieved – looking back I realize setting a goal to read 52 books this year was a bit over ambitious in the end I managed to read 8+ books this year]
Be open to new sights, sounds, tastes and experiences[goal status: achieved – I had a Red Velvet cupcake for the first time this year]
This is wisdom – “You need to celebrate all that you’ve accomplished while keeping in mind that there’s a lot still to be accomplished.”
Happy New Year, my friend!
Same to you 🙂
